I was 10 years old when I watched this game. As a Liverpool fan. I never really knew who Michael ballack was but I found out that game. I’ll never forget going to bed and crying for the 1st time over a football game

Remember this game. We had a solid defence back then and leverkusen made us look shabby. Great game going back and forth but the attacking threat posed by the Germans ( ballack, ze Roberto, neur, berbatov, basturk) were too good.

Leverkusen was the best team in the world in 2002. It's incredible they didnt win anything. In the CL-final they dominated Real almost totally but when young Iker Casillas came in, he took some impossible saves. And then there was the Zidane magic. It's fantastic to see that now in 2024 22 years after 2002 Leverkusen again has a team, which plays a hyper attractive football. Hopefully the nickname "Neverkusen" is forgotten after 2024. That 2002 team was incredible, only the midfield of Ballack, ze Roberto, Schneider and Bastürk was magical.

Ao invés de ser Brdaric e Kirsten, a dupla de ataque do Leverkusen poderia ser Neuville e Berbatov. Seria um time muito mais letal

He was a really world class player in his Ajax days. He would be even greater if it wasn't for injuries, but this is football. Many careers got destroyed by injuries.
