I was a freshman in the line section at this game and I was so close to leaving when we went down by 21. The only thing that stopped me (and I swear by this) is that I thought to myself "if I leave early and we somehow come back from this, I'll never forgive myself." Best decision of my life!
It's crazy, 38 points scored in this quarter alone. TCU was like that team that you face in NCAA14 that just had no talent one year, then National title talent the next, like how the 4 option schools Army, Navy, Air Force, and Georgia Tech just come out of nowhere and start blowing the bricks off of everyone. They started the 4th quarter with a 14-0 lead, once with the red zone score, and the pick six. Then Baylor after the pick six had this push, like this wave of power just overflowed every single players bodies and shot out of a cannon. Every drive other than the final drive started at the 20 yd line or less, meaning every touchdown drive they drove 80+ yards and scored on this TCU defense that dealt so much damage to them. Shock linwood was on fire in 3rd and 4th down, Corey Coleman just had that extra burst of speed that jolted him to tie the game, and the defense did everything in their power to win this game. Props to Baylor for hanging in there and playing BU football late.
You should have seen the faces on the TCU fans: pure jealousy and envy! Love it, they still can't stand that they can't beat Baylor. Lavender Lizards are going down again in 2015:)
Can't beat Baylor? You have a very short memory. Every time in modern history Baylor beats TCU, it's by less than a handful of points. Every time TCU beats Baylor it's a beat down, so get ready for your 2015 pounding. This time the refs won't make your last minute effort worthwhile - there won't even be a last minute opportunity. The Frogs will put your season in a casket and nail it shut this time...before and after the fourth quarter.
+LL Bean fan haha not going to happen with that hurt defense and lack of depth yall got. Your schedule is too difficult, you'll drop a game or two before Baylor even plays yall. Those close games like OU, Kansas lol, WVU will be losses this year. Everyone is going to be extra prepared for Boykin and the offense and your lack of defense will allow too many teams to run up the score.
***** Petty has the body to be a protoypical good pro, he's physically a lot like Drew Bledsoe, and he probably has the most arm strength of any rookie this season. BUT he has to mature in his reads because the Baylor offense is so fast paced that footwork is often not where it needs to be for the next level, and Petty has the personal flaw of always wanting to make the big play, he'll need to learn to check down and take a dump off when the big play isn't there.
Krummy Raider Were you at the game too? i was in the season ticket section shaking my head at our pathetic performance and then miraculous comeback, very exciting.
Kate Smith At least it wasn't against TCU. Haha. Frogs scraped by a few teams in 2014...uh um Kansas. In 2015 they will lose at least 2 or maybe a few more before Baylor plays them: due to lack of defensive depth and too much reliability on Boykin. Keep wearing purple so those bruises blend in cause Baylor's bringing another ass whopping for the 3rd time in a row.
JorJor812 It will be much different this year, Baylor doesn't get 5 weeks to prepare against TCU this year playing team like SFA, buffalo,SMU,Iowa St. and Texas, thats like a combined 10 wins.
+Gaius Octavius Not sure if you're referring to Baylor or TCU here....Baylor may have played SFA (my alma mater, btw) last year but guess who TCU plays in week 2? The very same Lumberjacks. Just sayin...
3 P.I.'s on that last drive for TCU...no call. Same amount of contact on that 3rd and 10 for Baylor to put them in Field Goal range🤔🤔 How do u call that but not the other ones?? But also how do u blow a three touchdown lead? TCU got snubbed of the playoffs and was clearly better than Baylor that year but thats the conference fault (Mainly Texas) for keeping the BIG 12 from expansion and being respected in the power 5
