I am a retired veteran of the U. S. Air Force with a total of 37 years as an aircraft mechanic (21 Active Duty, 16 as a Civil Service civilian employee). I was a dedicated crew chief on the F-15 for 16 of those years and worked on it off and on for the majority of my 37 years. My completely biased opinion is that the F-15 is the best airplane and fighter ever built. I was lucky enough early in my career to receive 2 back seat rides. Best roller coaster ride you ever will take. It was a privilege and honor to work on this magnificent aircraft. I absolutely loved working on it and seeing one fly still gives me goose bumps.
Back during my time as a KC-10 tanker pilot in the Air Force, I was able to arrange a backseat ride with this unit for a member of my crew who was retiring from the service. He had a blast flying with the "Coonass Militia" as they were called back then!
abs fantastic footage & flying, certainly miss watching F-15C's flying out of Raf Lakenheath sadly replaced by F-35's but luckily still 2 squadrons of F-15E's with the 48th FW
Somehow, you and I always seem to be close by to each other, you were about 40 feet further show right than I was lol. Well, see ya in November at NAS Pensacola :)
So much cooler and badass than the Angels. Dont get me wrong. They are awesome in a different way, but the F15 and A10 are just so amazing from my own personal experiences in combat
As a proud Vietnam ERA Air Force veteran, what I really want to is why the hell is music playing at EVERY freakin airshow when the aircraft are performing. I didn’t know there were music playing aircraft during dogfights!!! Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe there are any veterans who enjoy bands playing and drowning out that beautiful sound. Jets or piston! Especially when the airshow announcers say “Just listen to that jet noise” or “listen to the rumble of those big radial engines”. Ya can’t fkn hear anything but those massive speakers placed right in front of you!!!!!! WHY?????????
That's the Louisiana Air National Guard (LAANG) 159th Fighter Wing. They're stationed right there in New Orleans, set to receive the F-15EX in the future. So hopefully in 2026 (the next New Orleans air show) we'll see the new Eagles from the Bayou Militia.
Man i cant even remember the last time i seen the F-15 fly. the air show here in pittsburgh is HORRIBLE! Ever since they moved it from 911 air lift wing at pitt international years ago to the county air port about a hour from the city. Been to it once that was enough 😑
why would anyone think it a good idea to put those speakers on scaffolding right in the eyeline of the runway, just to have annoying music spoiling the real sound.......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
