From a fans perspective, Alfonso, you are nailing the questions in this interview. Well done buddy. God I'm so pumped for this movie, if this doesn't inject a massive resurgence into the franchise, nothing will. So pumped for this!
Im still very suprised over the age of Peter Cullen as 81 years old, teaming up With Steven Caple & co and are able to be so well in that age! Hes done a amazing work, and even Steven. And the fans will be happy for him to tell about this Journey. Steven cares about the fans, and people know it. And since Steven needed to hire in actors to try their best impression to be Optimus Voices to make sure they get the right scenes, and the tension Anthony needs to actually feel that Optimus is there With him (when there is other actors on set to help him out). Just to make it PERFECT! Well done Steven. And as a big fan of the whole Transformers universe and specially Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime, i really hope he continues, because it will be really hard to replace him, specially if this is going to be a new sucessful trilogy.
This is what happens when you get a real fan to direct. Him just talking about Primus, dark energon, and Unicron made me so happy. Can't wait to see the future. I want the titan Transformers like Metroplex if we go back to Cybertron.
@@Thatoneguy15547 As well as Trypticon & Fortress Maximus. If they're done properly on the big screen, then we can totally say it's a big dream come true. 😍😍😍
Im such a fan, i wrote my entire undergrad dissertation on Bayverse Transformers back in 2018... not an essay, blog, or short paper, a WHOLE DISSERTATION... which im probably the only one in the entire world that has graduated because of it.. so im definitely excited for this one ❤
The fact that Steven has the Transformers Visual History Book behind him along with a Optimus Prime Figure/Statue shows he cares on the same level as someone like Travis Knight or Derrick J Wyatt
Damn, he mentioned Primus? That would be amazing to see on the big screen, Primus and Unicron fighting. If they play their cards right, the transformers franchise could introduce a level of cinematic scale we haven’t really seen: giant planet robots fighting.
HUGE thanks to Steven and his team for coordinating this. The 10-minute extended cut of our interview is NOW LIVE exclusively for Alfonso Nation RU-vid Channel Members (all tiers)! Almost time for ROTB!
Its a reboot but is it a separate continuity? We all need to get away from the word "reboot" because no one knows what it means anymore and it can have multiple different meanings. A reboot can be a new continuity or in the same continuity as previous installments. We need to instead use the word "continuity" as in asking the question, is this film in the same continuity as 2007 The Transformers and only the director or producer can definitely answer that question but to date that question has not been asked as far as I've seen, asking if its a reboot isn't it, the answer to that question really won't solve anything because its ambiguous and can change day to day depending on whom you ask. We have to be 110% clear and concise etc
Steven got this in the bag. LET THIS MAN COOK!!!! He seems like he truly knows the material, and he has the heart for this franchise! Alfonso, you did a great job with this interview! Keep up with the success bro!
I'm so proud Alfonso really made a name for himself in this community and is actually meeting big names and doing interviews like this. Peter Cullen, the hasbro excecutive, and Steven Caple jr on the same show as transformers RU-vidrs is really special and makes the community feel connected. I appreciate it. Alfonso was and still is just a geek who shouts about transformers and plays with toys, he’s just like me, so it’s cool that the fans can be in touch like this.
Whether the movie is well received or not, you gotta give this man credit for having so much passion and care towards the fans you can tell he’s really putting in the effort to give us something great by communicating and listening🤝
Great and enjoyable interview. I feel like we have a brilliant and very understanding Director at the wheel and this has only made me even more excited to catch the movie! Till All Are One! 🦍
I’ve grown to like this guy more and more as I’ve learned and heard from him over the last few months. Seeing him hanging out with Peter Cullen, treating the crew with respect, and actually homaging the bay films instead of just changing even what worked from them for the sake of it. I’m really hoping he sticks the landing and we have a new regular director for Transformers
@@bryanramirez2626 Agreed, he badly needs the faceplate and also make his ears permanently out in the sequel and add more white to his design. I'd love to see him become a white computer repair van in the sequel with red and green stripes on it.
I’m very hesitant about this movie, but every time I see Caple he seems like just the most genuine and soft-spoken man, and obviously a fan, and that gives me hope.
For those who want the quick answer to the biggest question: it is definitely a reboot, but can still be connected to the Bayverse. In his own words, a refresher in tone and story. This is even more confusing considering his recent interview where he said ROTB will eventually lead to the 2007 movie. However, i think there is a reason for all the confusion ; I personally think ROTB will have some multiverse shenanigans that explain the mystery once and for all.
Let me clarify it for you by stating Caple doesn't understand how the word "reboot" is used in the fanbase, which is to mean that it would be disconnected from the Bay continuity, but he's clearly just expressing how they're taking a new direction with brand new elements, just like Jurassic World or Prometheus, and they are still operating in the past and do not yet have to explicitly connect to the 2007 events. This is the reason why you see him stating it's still basically connected or "can be connected" to the Bay continuity.
i can definitely see this film being like days of future past type film. It just needs to undo the bollocks of the last knight retconning the past - god i hated that having the autobots throughout human history like why? Plus it opens up options to do things not held back by the bayverse
27:05 This is great news for me to hear as a big Unicron fan. 😎When we got to that part in the interview my hype went through the roof several times and I got more and more big eyes during it. 🤣 I am truly looking forward to the movie now more than ever. 😎
Yeah, even Steven mentioned Dark Energon, Primus, and what connections exactly the Terrorcons have with all of these. Can't wait to see all of this unfold, we're finally getting deeper into the Transformers' ancient lore the proper way!
Yoo congratulations bro made it to talk to the director legendary Steven Caple Jr , that is crazy still cannot believe it . I’m happy for Alfonso he has come so far 👍
WONDERFUL,ENJOYABLE interview Alfonso. You asked deep questions and you listened when Steven spoke. You gave character, and you were also reserved💯 very Professional bro🔥 side note: I also appreciate you appreciating the moment and not making the interview a “can you find the spoiler” type of interview. You genuinely care💯
Thank you for sharing this special special moment with us Alfonso! I am so excited hearing from Steven Caple that hopes to make sequels to this film with continuity across all films. I really hope ROTB is not just a box office success but universally loved by Transformers fans of various generations so his vision for future films can be made into reality!
You can tell he got nervous with the Wheeljack question. I really REALLY hope this fan backlash makes him just rename the character Pablo, because I really wanna see Steve Blum's Wheeljack return.
It's cool seeing how open Steven is with the community and how passionate he is with this franchise and this film. Which is hyping up to be a giant hit. And I love hearing behind scenes of the production of the movie and how meaningful this is for the cast, crew, fans and Transformers as a whole. Which is hyping up to be a giant hit. Pablo, despite my previous hesitant feelings, has become a welcoming addition. And I'm looking forward to what he will do. And what all the Transformers will do. Optimus especially. Seeing his growth to becoming the protector of humanity with his fellow Autobots and his relationships with them. In other words. Till all are one.
This interview was so awesome, I enjoyed every moment of it! Just by watching this interview you can see that Steven Caple Jr. knows what he's doing and I trust this movie is going to be huge. Just by watching this interview, my excitement for Transformers: Rise of the Beast has increased 1000+. Maximals, Autobots, Roll Out!
Great interview!!!! In listening to this director that Peru was not his decision and then Micheal Bay showing up in Peru, it may have been some type of idea that if Bay had done his TFs 6 after the Last Knight, introducing Unicron it seems Bay may have told them Peru is next location and maybe had a deal with the Country for Paramount and them to shoot there.
@Mr. Porpoise I know! I mean I like bayverse as well but even I know that this is reboot. I guess some people just don’t want to let go of the past 🤷♂️
@@mmrproductions3176 honestly. They gonna keep waiting for the continuation of tf5 ending. Lol that cliff hanger is never gonna be fulfilled. They salty💀
@@bryanramirez2626 lol not if you ignore tf4/tf5 since tf3 was originally going to be the ending to the bayverse overall and comes off as a better ending than tf5 ever did.
@@ReyRey277 It's not a reboot. What you think when you hear the word "reboot" is that it's disconnected from the Bay continuity, but that is NOT what he's saying, but Caple uses the word to describe a new direction with brand new elements! He doesn't seem quite sure how to use the word himself. He even stated clearly in the Hollywood Reporter interview that "it doesn't mess up or contradict anything in the Bay continuity".
the reason why they came up with unicron so soon is because Im sure they will bring primus into the live action maybe in this but for sure in the sequels.
Excellent interview Alfonso, you nailed it. The hype is real and where almost a week a way from the premiere. Any at long last folks its officially confirmed, its a reboot.
Saw the Movie. It was great. Hope to see you hook back up with Steven Caple Jr. and talk about the movie. He did a phenomenal job. Keep doing what you're doing Alfonso! Transformer ROTB BABY!!!!!
Oh wow. Steven is truly down to earth. It might sound funny to say but I am surprised by how in touch he is and the effort he's put into various things.
Great interview! Loved that you had the opportunity to interview him! I might’ve missed it, but is Steven going to try and direct all movies for this trilogy? Judging by the pure passion and excitement he displayed, it would be awesome if Steven was in the director’s chair for this story 🙏
It’s intreating how vague they’ve been when it comes to the prequel vs reboot question, I feel like he only uses the word reboot in this interview as in it’s a new adventure in a new time period in the transformers universe but not a separate universe like he said here you can still watch the bay films and they’ll work but like he’s said before they’re not particularly rushing to marry the two yet allowing the prequel films to be their own thing
Hearing Steven talk about this film and what he’s trying to set up gives me great confidence for the future of Transformers. I’m cautiously optimistic and hoping that ROTB will be good
Great stuff! :) i was actually surprised at the response at 29:30 about being wary about introducing too much, which I felt during the entire time I heard updates about this movie. So that puts the nerves at ease a bit..
My new favorite director, he seems very humble and genuine. I hope he nailed this movie, there will be parts that someone won't like I'm sure cause no movie is perfect, I'm just happy the direction of my favorite franchise is goin!!
The beginning of the bumblebee film was a hugee tease 😩 I remember to this day going crazy when I seen G1 prime & Steven caple you brung our childhood back thank u brudda 👏🏾 amazing work !!!! & also 81 years old.. and still rolling out 🫡 Peter Cullen.. wow…. It still impresses me how powerful his voice is even at his age and also Alfonsoooo THE ROBOSEN OPTIMUS ITS INSANE !!!!!
Love Steve as director for a couple of reasons. First, he had the good sense to bring in Michael Bay for help and that help was extensive, by both his admission and Paramount's. The only thing I disagree with him on is stating ROTB is a reboot as both Lorenzo dB - and you can like him or hate him, it doesn't matter as he's still near the "top of the pile" in authority - and the executives at Paramount have emphatically stated it is NOT a reboot. They said it again at the press conference for ROTB.
Man, you can tell so easily that he cares about this movie a lot, he cares about the franchise, I have great expectations on the movie now more than ever.
Fantastic interview, such a standup director, sometimes I feel embarrassed that still like robots and stuff, like I gotta hide it so I don't get made fun of, but Steven was so genuine, he made me feel ok about being a nerd and a fan. I love his creativity and hearing him talk about stuff like the voice actors for the tennis balls, and the random person yelling "run optimus!". You were a wonderful interviewer Alfonso, I can't wait for the followup interview. I was already planning to see this movie, but after this interview, I AM REALLY GOING TO SEE THIS MOVIE.
Great interview bro. Thanks for bringing Steven to the fans. We the hard-core fans will come out in full force to support our franchise and prove the box office naysayers wrong. As Optimus Prime would say ' Transform and roll out'!
Wheeljack is my favorite transformer so I initially HATED the redesign for this movie. It's grown on me but I would still vastly prefer he actually look like Wheeljack. I am looking forward to how he is handled in the movie and I'm at least glad they gave him back his ears in battle mode at least. Now he needs a faceplate too. Also, hopefully he has the ears for more than just a few seconds. Also, he better not get killed off!!! I want to see him be a bigger character in the sequel(and also see him look more like Wheeljack is supposed to)
Yeah, finally Steven confirmed that he's still the same one as seen in the Bumblebee movie, and the true reason for his massive design change will be explained in the movie, which is great. At least they didn't go that "Oh, let's just change his design out of nowhere & not explain everything." bulls***, because I really hate that.
What an amazing interview (sorry I was a little late for this) Steven Caple Jr. was definitely cooking with this movie cannot express how hyped I am for this movie
This was an Amazing Interview It Made Me more Hyped Up for the Movie this is probably the Most Hyped Up I've Ever been for a Movie and the funny thing is that right as I click on this video I got an ad of Rise of The Beast of Mirage and meeting other Autobots Just CAN'T WAIT for Transformers Rise of The Beasts
An excellent interview. It's great to see the heart and invest ment you and Steven have for this franchise. As fans we love to see it. I can't wait to see it opening night. Not to plug but if Steven Caple Jr. Happens to see this and needs a voice actor/decent fill in for Peter Cullen I would love to get in touch. 🙏🤞
Bro, you are the best and the only one who makes this kind of quality content, they definitely should have invited you to the premiere, you deserved it, greetings from Mexico City
Props to u for bringing up the Wheeljack design change controversy! 👏👏👏 Now we finally know there's an in-universe explanation for the change, & we can't wait to find out what exactly made him become like "Pablo". & it's also great u brought up the reboot / Bayverse discussion. Thank Primus it really is a reboot universe, but it also pays tribute to some of the Bayverse elements.
It's not a rebooted universe, it's still in connection with the Bay continuity, he even says so in the Hollywood Reporter article by stating "it doesn't contradict or mess up any of the Bay timeline". What he means by "reboot" is something new and fresh, a new direction as with Jurassic World or Prometheus.
Hearing Steven talk has renewed my confidence in this franchise, he sounds like he cares about every aspect of the film, the actors, the designs, the voices, the characters. Just the fact that he knows the characters names is promising, Bay treated transformers like a paycheck, he seemed annoyed with it. Steven cares about the franchise. Also hearing primal yell maximize on the big screen is overwhelmingly awesome
I’ve been on the roller coaster of being excited and then not so much for this film. This interview though has got me jazzed! Steven has passion, knowledge and backs decisions up with story 👍 Let’s just hope the producers didn’t mess with his vision too much 👍 PABLO! 🤟
Great interview @AlfonsoNation According to the Director Its a reboot/refresh but is it a separate continuity from 2007s Transformers? Because other interviews and the producer seem to say that it is in the same continuity. We kinda have some different things being said and alot of that in my personal opinion may be to do with the term "reboot". A reboot in film or television can be a new continuity or the same continuity with a new direction.
I might go watch it on opening night, I'll ask my dad if he agrees with me to see ROTB in the theater on a opening night. I've been watching the live action films for 16 years.
I Believe In This Man 100% A True Transformers Fan And I Love The Transformers Prime Easterggs AllOver The Movie I Can Name A Few Hand Cannons Energon Blasting Space Bridging
