Dan is just very concerned on Anna's well being. Wants her to walk in front so he can keep an eye on her safety plus keep up a steady wakking pace. Not because Anna might go on a shopping spree 😂.
The singgang is the fish soup synonimous with people from Kelantan, but it is now widespred being sold in the western sides of Peninsular Malaysia. The soup is good for dieting and recuperating from illness
49:25 That's "asam keping" - a sliced and dried part of the fruit "asam gelugur" (scientific name Garcinia atroviridis) native to Southeast Asia, commonly used in Malay cooking to give sourish flavour to the dish.

Very nice Anna supporting our local business 👍 Kelantan n Terengganu famous for their beautiful batik. Hati= liver Paru= lung Limpa= spleen Lala= moluss/clam
Singgang is healthy water based spiced dish with many local veggies and is good for health with oily fish that is full of Omega 3 like tongkol (tuna) or tenggiri (mackerel). But I hate it😅. The clams or lala, if its closed don't eat them, cos they mave have sea mud like what you found. Usually, if the clams are cooked well, they open up. I'm from Singapore, and last time I went to Pasar Siti Khadijah, I was 11 or 12 years old, more than 30years ago. Might be time for me to go up to Kelantan again.😊
Hello DanAnna. Greeting to both of you. At the Siti Khatijah market all the restaurants were situated at the top floor. You must climb upstair to the top floor to dine or eat at the restaurant. You must ask the people that were selling dried food and clothing to show you the way to the restaurant. Usually they all were very friendly and would assist you to find the way. By the way, the restaurant that you had food there name is “ Kak Lah” and the fish soup is called “pindang Ikan tongkol” or “singgang ikan aye” . Normally people don’t eat the “asam Keping” it is used for its souring flavour taste. That’s why they were laughing when you ate a piece of “asam keping”. Happy exploring Kota Bharu and Kelantan hiking and eating. Masam”means very sour. Bye..
General rule of thumb when eating clams of any kind is not to eat those with unopened shells after cooking as they are “bad”. The asam keping (tamarind slices), the woman was alarmed because normally people don’t eat as they could be too sour (masam).
The black fruit in the fish soup is called asam keping, slices of assam. ( Garcinia cambogia). Which will provide the soury taste in the dish and will lessen the fishy smell .
Anna is soo cute by drinking the "singgang soup" from the bowl/pinggan. You should make such a cute thumbnail (by drinking from the big plate/bowl) in future. If you having fever or stomach ache, you may have that delicious "ikan tongkol singgang" + plain white rice, just as to comfort you stomach and no more feel pain.
Just for info..because Kelantan is more Islamic state hence the market is named Siti Khadijah after the wife of the Prophet Mohammed because she was a an entrepreneur and you can see that many sellers are women😊.
The food court in pasar Siti Khadijah is located on 2nd floor of the market.. You guys took the wrong way on the 2nd floor... That's why u didn't found it...
Anna ate assam keping which is not eaten. It comes from a tree. The fruit is sliced and dried before it is used. It is added to give the dish a bit of sourness. The internal organ Dan ate is the chicken gizzard.
hai dan n anna..the food place of pasar khadijah just walk through the pathway of coconut milk stall..a lot of food n rice there..a minute walk from coconut milk stall..

Mr dan, if u want ask if their shop have telur masin or not, u should say like this, ADA telur masin, if u said TIDAK telur, mean some diferent word, Bec TIDAK mean NO or in Malays TIDAK it also can mean u dont want. my english so bad so i cant explain much here 😃 👌
@@dananna8614you can if you can bear the sourness.....but to be honest we never eat them....😂😂😂that's y the lady was shocked to see Anna eating asam keeping......
Asam keping" in English is commonly referred to as "dried tamarind slices" or "tamarind peel." It's a type of preserved tamarind used in Southeast Asian cuisine to add a sour flavor to dishes. These dried tamarind slices are often used in soups, curries, and various sauces to impart a tangy taste.
The tamarind slice used to add sour flavour in many dishes. We also use tamarind to clean fish that why its clean and not smelly. Dan u can eat as much you want for lunch because it will be digest by dinner time.
Instead of saying 'sedap gila' ( crazy delicious) you might want to Try saying this , ' sangat sedap '( very delicious'). But still no problem to say sedap gila.
Enjoy your time at khadijah market. But it could be polite if you purchase a small candy after you had trial. Meanwhile enjoy your adventure in Kelantan
At min 38.00 when u ask the lady telur rebus, she said in kelantan dialek takdok mean Tak Ada (dont have) than mr dan say TIDAK telur thats why the lady dont understand u 😃 👌

Sup la tu. Sup ikan tongkol. Kat mat salleh jika kuah cernih banyak, tu sup. Btw the Kelantanese are famous for their gold and it's cheaper there. Also, it's said Kelantanese people are very smart. The govt has sent and sends many scholars to study abroad in the UK, America, Australia etc and many are Kelantanese. It seems it was due to the amount of fish they ate though now maybe chicken is preferred.
@@zulfikranzulmos4066 kat mat salleh klau kuah banyak sup la, fish sup. Saya tinggal di Britain 6 tahun so saya agak tau pemikiran mat salleh in syaa Allah walaupun diaorang ni mat salleh dari Sweden.
