What Catriona shared about her speaking skills is so true. Many people tend to misunderstand you if you speak too profoundly, for them. They think what you say is scripted because they don't know you. So it helps to simplify what you say and be more specific instead of rhetorical, so that judges and audiences can understand you and you will become more relatable to those who watch and follow you. People will always have something to say. If you say something dumb, they laugh at you. If you say something intelligent, they scratch their heads, roll their eyes, think it scripted and at worst, accuse you of plagiarism. So in a way, expressing yourself is like knowing what amount of sugar customers like for their milk tea. You meet them at an agreeable point, so you can still win and be crowned without the need to be fake just because you wanted to please everyone.
I salute ladies that join beauty contests especially to those who have represented their countries in the global arena. Beauty pageants are as tough as sports to be honest. People often think that it's just about glitz and glam but they cannot see the efforts behind it. In sports, we athletes (coz I represented my school lots of times in High School for interschool competitions in Swimming, Volleyball, Tennis and Chess) had to eat a lot but we made sure to burn everything! We needed to use our coconut shells especially in Chess in order for us to win and become the pride that our school had to feel for choosing us to represent our school. Same sentiments go for beauty queens and not to forget, beauty should always be maintained and what's hard about the beauty category is that it's subjective. Ladies cannot please everyone about it when it comes to the standards of beauty coz opinions differ. Unlike in sports, once we are great at it, opinions won't differ and looks won't really matter that much anymore. Bonus na lang kung guapo or maganda ang representatives. ☺️
Gosh so love your tandem 😍 ang kekengkoy 😂😍 though nakaka intimidate yung presence niyong dalawa as a mentors I'm sure nag eenjoy yung mga ladies sa mga hanash niyo cause its like a free lesson na din for them to take not just on their beauty pageant journey but also in their future endeavors.
Seeing both of you inspires me to improve more my speaking skills. What you are discussing is not only applicable in pageantry but also in teaching 21st century learners.
This generation of learners actually needs to be taught to listen with understanding as well. The majority of viewers completely MISSED the irony and the point in Nicole Cordoves’ eloquent response to her Q&A at Miss Grand Imitation in Las Vegas. They thought that Nicole was being anti-Hillary Clinton and didn’t understand her position at all. The blind support for the Philippines’ murderous and dictator Marcos-wannabe president is another example of how this generation needs to be taught how to think critically as well.
Finally Miss Nicole waiting for this collab. Love it even its a virtual collab, hoping for more collabs withQueen Cat talking something about life. Love u Both😍😍😍😍
Parang gusto ko sumali sa bbp kung ganito ka galing mentor ko.. Always watch your vlog momsh nicole and Di ako magsasara sumuporta sa iyo tawag nga ng mga friends ko sa akin now nicole cordoves share ko lang.. More power to you both ❤️
Great job Binibining Nicole & Queen Cat. Best mentors for the Binibinis. Your comments are very constructive and you gave the girls the path on how to express themselves more of who they really are as an individual and how to show their passion by being themselves and not the public wants them to be. This workshop gives light to all the Binibinis, because everyone is given the chance to be heard and to be known personally by the public through their videos and their upcoming workshop activities. - Frankie Kanamaru
I so loved it. Grabe! Ang galing ng tandem po. Engaging talaga at ang dami kong natutunan. I can sense Queen Cat is so vomfortabke with you and vice versa. Best mentors talaga kayo po.🙂💚👏
Such a good conversation for both Queens. The explanation you give to us is very easy to understand and they pointed out. There's so many things to apply your advices not only in the pageantry. You're such a good example for personality development.👏👏👏
Puerto Rican fans wanting to justify Catriona’s “loss” at the Julia Morley Cooking Show in 2016 were the ones that introduced the excuse that Catriona “copied” MW 2013 Megan Young’s styling. It’s ironic how gullible Filipinos lapped up that excuse and used it both to justify Master Chef Julia’s action and to bash Aces & Queens for doing a “bad job” at packaging the real MW 2016 winner.
First, being a Binibini candidate palang napakalaking achievement na dahil hindi lahat nakakasali. Second, mamementor ka ni Nicole Cordovez and Catriona Gray. Wow!!! For me parang bonus na lang crown kung isa ako sa mga candidate.
BPCI actually needs to be stricter. The likes of the inarticulate, major clapper Gazini Ganados should not even make the Top 40 cut next time. What an EMBARRASSMENT to Philippine pageantry!
@@pageantpatty9222 ngayon ka lang naging pageant fan, 'no? You've never witness the dark age na mahagip lang nang camera si Ms. Ph, masaya na ang lahat. C'mon, being in top 20 is already an achievement, ilan ba sila lahat? 😏
Keyel Schienn NO EXCUSE in this day and age (especially with so many runner-up placements and TWO Miss Universe winners, demonstrating that the Philippines knows what it takes to win) for any Philippine contestant to end up only in the Top 20. In particular, there’s absolutely NO EXCUSE to fumble a four-sentence PREPARED speech when you’ve had 8 months to practice for it! NO TO BOBO CANDIDATES!
@@pageantpatty9222 no excuse. You are right, pero naisip mo rin ba, na hindi lang tayo ang nagi-improve, ibang bansa din. So knowing na nag-place pa siya, kahit na maraming bansa na ang umaangat eh malaking bagay na din. We must be appreciative, hindi 'yong ganiyan na grabe mo laitin si Gaz. 😏
Keyel Schienn Yup, but still no excuse. The work that the Philippines took on to make it ahead of the curve among Asian and many other countries and the talent behind such remain very much present in the Philippines. Loser Ganados and the team behind her were an EPIC FAIL, beginning with the fact that they spent their ENTIRE prep time “overtraining” in photo shoots as if Ganados were competing for a Miss Photogenic competition instead of Miss Universe. NOBODY paid attention to the structure and content of her poorly constructed speech and she had absolutely NO training in communication (a one hour session with Boy Abunda a week before the pageant was completely useless), showing in her nervous, rambling, grammatically atrocious brief conversation with Steve Harvey. She also didn’t pay attention to her figure - she was FAT at the prelims! Goodness, they WASTED all the the MONTHS they had to prepare for Miss Universe! At the very least, with her low IQ and poor verbal abilities, she should have been sent to a minimum of 4 hours of critical thinking and communication skills training EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR 8 MONTHS, which should have at least pushed her past the prepared speech and into the Top 10, so that she would have had at least a chance to showcase her fat body 🙄 in the swimsuit round, and if she passed that and made waves in EG (which would have been EASY for her), she would at least have secured a Top 5 spot even if she were to falter in the Q&A! ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSES FOR THIS LOSER MUP 2019 BID.
Tama si Cat, it's not about who has the BEST photo..pageantry is not ms.photogenic....kasi nag iiba na talaga ang pageantry ngayon..kelangan may communication skills ka rin at smart....eh unfortunately nagbabased pa rin ang mga hot picks sa may pinakamagandang pictures..keber na kung mahina communication skills o hindi confident basta maganda ok na sa kanila.
Learned a lot from this one especially in the area of public speaking and how you present/ carry yourself. Hoping for more and also a possible colab for a podcast I’m planning. 😉😊🙏🏼
Ang daming crown worthy! Hope binibini will acquire one or two more High potential pageants. Sobrang daming sayang if ever they are all worth a binibini sash
I was thinking na kawawa ang Batch 2020 due to constant rescheduling of the finals pero they are learning naman pala actually the learning is not just beneficial sa pageant pero sa life as well
Samantha Panlilio is a smart and fine girl. Does she come from the rich Panlilio family that owns the 6750 Bldg on Ayala Av, Mkti? I wish she sported a pony tail on her first cooking video and then a bun on her second cooking video. Cooking with one's long hair down risks having strands in the food she is cooking.
Why do people always look for something negative to say about catriona? Can we just keep positive vibes here and learn something new in your life to improve on.
