@Callum Precious They just got a bloody rebrand two years ago, which they spent MILLIONS on revamping all the online stuff! The last thing the Corporation needs is another rebranding. They should just refresh the idents and logo placement now and again, and the ENTIRE POINT OF THE RED AND ORANGE COLOURS OF THE BALLOON IS TO MAKE IT STAND OUT.
As far as I know from what I've seen online, that was intentional. BBC One had idents featuring spinning globes for many decades, and the identity package featuring the hot air balloon was the last time the channel's identity was represented by a globe, and it was also the channel's last identity package to feature an on-screen clock ticking to the top of the hour for stuff like news bulletins.
I’m hoping Oaklands Waterlooville Challenge Week will bring all the days out back on track sooner or later and if they did everything will go happily back to normal again
@Leeswinburn My favourite BBC One Balloon idents is the docks with cranes and packages the black pool tower the bungee jumper the market the skateboarders the carnival the bridge and the forth bridge and the football pitch and all the other idents as well and i enjoyed it.
