It’s January 2023 - I’m watching Jane ayre on dvd still. My fav actress. Amazing how far she’s come with the affair, Luther, Mrs wilson. The list goes on. So so so so proud of her!! ❤❤
she isnt a picture of perfection...but i find her quite beautiful ...thhere is just something about her...the more you watch her and get to know her the prettier she becomes each time...well at least to me...plus she is a wonderful actress and i absolutely loved her performance as jane eyre
I read some time ago a reviewer of her performance saying that she was "luminous". Absolutely correct. All the nuance between her and Toby Stevens just leapt out of the screen in an extraordinary way.
Jane Eyre is not only a fantastic and amazingly original book, just full of originality and that's all that can be said, but this adaption was just brilliant.
i JUST finished watching the series and I absolutely fell in love with Ruth as an actress. shes phenomenal and i hope to see her again in another production :]
Oh, this is the interview I was looking for. I first discovered Ruth in Jane Eyre, and I am a great fan of Jane Eyre. I wanted to know about her experience there. I've searched online for every interview and story about Ruth Wilson, but this is the one I wanted most. My experience of watching her in Jane Eyre is unforgettable, and I will always go back there I suppose. The interviews have revealed how intelligent and interesting Ruth Wilson is. I didn't plan to be a fan, but here I am despite myself. I feel silly.
ever since i saw Ruth's magnificent performance as Jane Eyre, I have fallen in love with her. Whenever i hear of anything with her in, i watch it and love it - she is so beautiful and an amazing actress!
She was the perfect Jane. I like that both she and Toby Stephens both told in individual interviews that they actually read the book and understood the characters. It really shows in the way they went about their parts. Though I'll always love Timothy Dalton as Rochester, Ruth and Toby are my favorite couple to play the roles of Jane and Rochester.
i saw the movie jane erye and i loved her performance she has a distinct beauty in that film i mean when she play jane she was plain and dull but being plain made her beautiful in the film. great work gurl! talented
i think her face is very unique and the way she played the character was amazing. she was excellent, in my opinion. if we want to talk eye brows- jack nickolson probably gets his roles in horror films because of them. ruth wilson can go very far in whatever she likes because of her acting skills. the first time i ever saw toby or ruth was in jane eyre and liked them the moment i saw it.
When she was talking about how difficult it was to show what Jane was thinking because she doesn't really say very much, I was thinking about all the times in the series when Ruth conveyed so much about what Jane was thinking just through a smile or a look. She's amazing at that. Ha ha. The incest comment was funny. I remember thinking that myself when I first heard about the role.
I have seen many movie versions of "Jane Eyre".This one was the one I preferred: Ruth Wilson was perfect! And she might not be beautiful in a top model-kind-of-way, but she's surely charming and very sensual.I am only sorry that we Italians have not many chances to follow her acting career.I personally like her very much!!
She is so grounded, I really liked her. Her Jane Eyre was superb, and Toby Stephens was the BEST of the Rochesters, he was superb, what I hate about this industry is Toby Stephens (imho) is a superior actor, better than FIRTH, DDLEWIS, REDMAYNE,AND A FEW OTHERS BUT HE HAS NO BAFTA OR OSCAR? @skanxtaz Ruth Wilson is one of the best young talents out there, and all the 4 principal actors; Ruth, Naomie Harris, Benedict Cumberbatch & David Oyelowo put forth fantastic performances in Small Island...really makes me laugh and cry with them. fantastic production!
I didn't think she wasn beautiful in the movie, at least not in the conventional sense, it was her charisma that made her pretty in it, and that's how it's supposed to be. Jane Eyre isn't supposed to be pretty, she's supposed to be plain and unspectacular. Ruth Wilson is very pretty though.
I'm so glad she mentioned Maggie was toby's mum! That makes 6 degrees of separation that much easier! I wonder if Ruth realizes how far this shows her. I mean who would have thought she'd have fan half way across the world a year after drama school.

first of all dude interview......lol secondly: Ruth Wilson is a brilliant actress. After first seeing her in Luther I was fascinated by her character and her uniquely beautiful smile. Her performance in Jane Eyre completely blew me away and I look forward to seeing more of her television work. God I wish I lived in London, I would die to see her and jude law ina a freaking play!
Ruth isn't ugly. If you compare her to the the other stars out there I guess she's in the "ugly"-list because she isn't a classic beauty. I recommend reading Jane Eyre because it is the greatest book I've ever read, without doubt.

I'm sorry, but he is NOT SEXY, in any and all sense of the word. He is probably the most hideous man who will ever star in a good period drama, and yet he's just brilliant and did the job splendidly.
