BBC ONE and TV-AM | Great Storm continuity - Friday 16th October 1987 

It was the day after my brother Anthony's birthday- he turned 20. I was a 17 year old YTS trainee at the time and remember it very well!

An amazing find. These excerpts have never been uploaded before I think. Can remember clips of Richard Keys sitting in the Thames TV studio for TV-am, but hadn't seen much else of that morning on ITV

I got married in April 1988 and we honeymooned in London, we walked along Hampstead Heath and there were still big trees that had been brought down by the storm! 🙏🙏🙏

Great example of when something seriously bad happens in the UK it's a disaster, but if it happens in the south-east of England it's a *_CATASTROPHE!_*
