I have a Polish friend from west London who told me whenever she travels on the tube at night, if ever there is a Sikh on board she would sit near him. Not often that you hear that said of 'godly men'. Waheguru our sikh brothers 🙏
@EllisLane-up3mp well i thought the comment explained itself, but i think she was inferring to feeling safer sitting with someone who's duty it is to intervene should she encounter any problem with another passenger, (which by the way happens fairly frequently on London underground ) as opposed to sitting amongst cowardly brits, who would deal with the situation by pretending to be viewing something important on their mobile phones whilst inwardly praying for the next station so as they can alight.
@@steve9542000 Why would a Polish lady sit closer to Sikhs? Most Sikhs aren't all that what you described, Sikhs lack hygiene by having a cloth permanently wrapped around their hair.
@steve9542000 yeah that's cool n all but you also gotta be aware of which type of sikh you sit with. Some just wear turbans with 0 knowledge about their religion nowadays. Your best choices would be the sikhs who wear dastars and dumallas since they have probably gone through the amrit ceremony.
This our Guru Nanak teaching, We r one, every one is entitled to eat same food, God house, no one rich no one poor, eat together. One God, and everyone sent by him as equals.
Amazing coverage by the BBC... Just a slight (very friendly) correction. The Gurus Langar is not part of the Sikh tradition as the presenter stated. It's a part of the Gurus word and hence a very pivotal part of the religion. Guru Ka Langar is as integral to Sikhi as the Kanga, Kachera, Kesh, Kara and Kirpan. Tradition simply isn't the right word. Wand Chakna and Sarbat da Balah - directly from Baba Ji's direction. WGJKKWGJKF.
In Sikhism, men snd woman are equals, animals and humans are also equal and everyone regardless of their beliefs are welcome. Can you name me any other religion that has that in its tenets?
Langar is second nature to Sikhs - it’s almost in their DNA now! - great tradition since Guru Nanak famously spent 20 rupees his father gave him to buy groceries on feeding the needy.
We are really not worried about how we gonna make the end meet. because we humans we sikhs are not running our gurudwara sahb. It’s Akal purkh Waheguru. Humans can’t run gurudwara and only and only under his hukam these food are served and only under his hukam everything will come to end. 🙏🏻
Nothing against Sikh kaum. Beautiful people!! But if this channel is just about Sikhs then name should be Sikh channel not Punjab channel. Punjab also means Hindus, Muslims, Jains and Christians etc. Punjab DOES NOT mean Sikhs.
No harm in the name. Its a sikh channel. Go read and listen first. Sikhs doing sewa not hindus or others. So its called aa sikh channel for the world to understand the meaning of sikhi.
@@KuldeepSingh-le7nw yes so name should be Sikh channel not Punjab channel. Big respect for Sikhism but punjab is not only about sikihism, there are other religions in the state too. If channels name is punjab channel then show the entire Punjab not just the part of it.
Fer bhara tu na hi ja guruduwara sahib . Pehla guru sahiba di bani Changi tarha read kro Fer gal krna. Guru sahiba ne pehla pangat Fer sangat wali reet chalye c . Raje akbar warge nu v Langer ch bethna piya ki gal oh greeb c ja bhukha c. Gal equality di hai k sare Jane ek samaan ne.
The langar hall of a gurdwara is a societal good. A free, hot meal after going for a while without food can be a major morale booster, as is seeing the smiling, selfless people serving it. You can't go wrong when you find this community whose religion is founded on service, compassion and equality. People of every different race, creed and caste sit together to eat and fellowship and the possibilities for life-changing dialogue with a stranger are endless. This, too, boosts one's morale.
Just to add on, history says the third guru of Sikhs Guru Amar Das ji refused to meet anyone who didn't partake in langar. So the emporer of India Akbar has to sit with common people on floor eat langar and only then he met with the guru. Langar is not only for needy it's to seek the blessings of the guru.
I can’t believe that lady said we need to figure out how to make ends meet. Sikhs are NEVER worried about food shortages or money shortages in our GuruGhars there for Waheguru ji always provides.
Same here, I too was very shocked to hear her say that. She should have known that it is the Guru's Langar and Guru's treasures are always overflowing, she need not worry.
One thing I know for sure is this is a blessing from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The divine blessings from his grace will forever be here, never need to worry about shortages. His grace is so abundant.
@@BK-oz3ml If she is worrying that means she has not fully surrendered to the Guru. When you surrender, you leave things upto the Guru and fully understand that he is in control.
It’s things like this that make me so proud to part of the Sikh paanth, by going to the gurudwara in her time of need this lady may well start a journey into sikhi and no one has forced it on her as we Sikhs do not believe in forcing our beliefs onto others
@@maudgomery1682 Proud is the product of our ego. We all know that Sikh`s Gurus speak against of being proud of our ancestors, family, wealth and so on. let's be thankful to Waheguru instead of being proud of that we are born as Sikh. Haumai or proud will lead us astray from the correct path and eventually destroy us all.
It’s about having a beautiful faith that teaches every verse of life and does it with dignity. No of us are real Sikhs. We can follow Sikhi to enrich ourselves but becoming a genuine sikh its a hard task.
It doesn’t matter the culture the skin colour or what religion you are anyone and everyone is welcome in the gurdwara everyone deserves food in their belly god bless you all
As a hindu Im very proud of our Sikh brothers and sisters for serving god in the best way, which is serving humanity. Hindus also have this belief of seva or atma seva and we should do more to cultivate this attitude. Yes prasad is offered to all in hindu temples in the UK, but one thing that really humbled me when I went to a gurudhawra is seeing even ppl cleaning everyones shoes. We are no better or worse than each other, humble acts like this bring us closer to the divine. Id love to visit a gurdwara again and next time if I could I would like to do seva too🙏
As Sikh , food langar is never worried about cost and inflation, not even the admin there Because the process is so blessed by Sikh GURUS worship to God ,eat or spend whatever amount on this good deeds , there will never be a short but always a growth in all aspects ❤
Guys firstly stop your negativity and secondly she was on tv and asked on the spot the words she wanted to use may not be what she was intending to Say! How can you judge a persons faith with a answer you have heard on tv? It’s laughable as rather than supporting her you have attacked her faith and of someone that is amritari please look at yourselves before judging others as this is a big teaching from our gurus 🙏🏽
All walks of faith and life r welcome here and no questions asked only respect and humble is to be expected,we sikh contribute ten percent of our earnings ever month for the betterment of humanity.no one will force u to convert or forcefully preach u their faith.u r respected as u r
