why the guest keeps saying that its a woman's parents' duty to raise her the perfect Islamic way, what about women who are reverts to Islam and whose families have no idea of raising the children accordingly? what about good women who were raised in a surrounding that does not embrace Islam? I find it strange that the guest keeps insisting that the decision of marriage should be made on basis of compatability which he argues is reflected of women's excellent practicing of Islam as a condition pre marriage. There are many other factors that can be considered as important or even more important, such as protecting the young people from falling in zina if they did not get married, especially if a young man is living in a surrounding that has neglegible number of Muslim women, as is the case for those who reside in the diaspora for work or education in areas there are hardly any Muslim women of that standards of practicing or of marriage age available. Besides, we have to remember that even some prophets were married to women who were not of the same caliber of their husbands faith or bioty, such as the wife of Lut. Men and women can better themselves over the years and improve their practices of faith by educating themselves and encouraging each other. Some Sahabah were Mushrikeen but the moment they embraced Islam they would get married to practicing Muslim women, even before the men learn enough about perfect practicing of Islam.

The simplicity part is fine but not having a uk marriage contract means the woman is trapped. He gets to treat her badly etc and she has no financial recourse. The prophet peace be upon him used to do house work and help his wives. He used to mend his clothes and sew his shoes or socks as well. A woman's role in Islam is not to do housework and even some Imams say, since the man is the provider and he claims Quamah he can pay and provide his women with someone who helps in cleaning the house. Quamah in Islam is for the man but conditioned with two points, one which is Tafdeel and who is perform better in life in terms of character, abilities, etc... and the second condition, is the ability to financially provide for the woman and his family, if he lost the ability to provide for one reason or another, he loses the right of Quamah over his family. If the woman is the provider, she will have Quamah in the family, which means the leadership and making the decisions, she will have the last word. Some men are alcholic, disabled, or of bad character or even do not seek employment, in such case some of them might not take wise decisions regarding finances for example. The woman works and he takes the money and spend it unwisely, surely God is wise and will not give him leadership over his hardworking pious woman.

The guest seems to misunderstand the consept of Quamah in Islam and thinks it is linked with the gender in the family making men better than women. Its not. In Islam the marriage is an institution and the rules are set to organise life. Based on men's physical abilities they are assigned to leadership of family because they have to face everything linked to running family issues outside home like work, providing and protection of family members, not just the wife, but all those who depend on him including children, sisters under his protection, little brothers, elderly parents including his own father or grandfather, while women are the leaders inside home in charge of running the inside kingdom as a shared responsibility and dividing chores between them. The relationship is complementary and does not make a man better than a woman in any way as the guest is suggesting. In Islam even between a group of men there should be a leader chosen as well. The prophet Peace Be Upon Him, said if you were three men, make one of you a leader. This means, leadership is a commonsense duty, assigned to the best person to lead a group based on knowledge, good judgement and physical abilities and has nothing to do with men being better than women in leadership or what the guest mentioned of short term or long term decissions. Again, Quamah in Islam is conditional not absolute. If a group of women are living together and there are no man to lead the family or the group, as was the case during Jihad, one of the women becomes a leader of the family that carries the Quamah duties and carries its character , based on her ability to lead, physically and mentally...her knowledge, character, wisdom, experience are taken into account.

After hearing his view (22:44), I'm going to have to point out that NOT all women enter into a civil marriage wanting to get 50% of what his partner earns. Rather narrow minded view coming from a doctor. If someone wants to enter into a nikah (unregistered religious marriage) and not a civil marriage and have kids from that marriage, their kids would be considered illegitimate according to the law of the land because they are born without a civil marriage. That, is a sin itself because your being dishonest with the law of the land with the living arrangement with your partner because you have married someone you dont trust and technically had kids out of wedlock according to the law! No women wants to get married then become another divorcee/single mother and add to the high divorce stats. Clearly didnt trust the person who he married, they have taken the kids and his money, now he is spreading this nonsense to the rest of the males watching his talks. He posted videos about how marriage is scared. Where is the sanctity of marriage for saying have a nikah only and no civil marriage?? Males reading this comment, a lot of females DO NOT WANT MONEY from a man especially in this day and age where women are established and earning money especially doctors! No wonder the GMC have to get involved with some of the content he posts online, its the way he conveys his view online that gets him into trouble! I always feel extremely happy when i see someone from P*kistan or Afgh*nistan be successful abroad. MaShaAllah. I would like to clarify some things, that a lot of Muslims do not know about. Firstly, the children staying with the mother after the divorce is Islamic. In Islam the children HAVE to stay with the mother untill the age of 7 AT LEAST because Islam recognises the importance of a mother for children very young in age. Also, the father of the children paying for their upbringing is purely Islamic too, and a woman can even right that in the marriage contract : the amount of money to be paif for each child. So BEFORE marriage discuss the marriage cntract VERY seriously. It is the MOST important thing. Secondly, the woman receiving half of your assets upon divorce is ALSO from Islam. During the Ummayad Caliphate, Muslim men started divorcing their wives whenever they wanted, thus the number of divorced women and fatherless children started increasing daily. To counteract that, the Ummayad Caliph of Cordoba issued a Fatwa and said that whichever man divorces his wife has to give half of all his assets to the wife. Thirdly, 90% of all "hindu" culture comes from Persians, Turkic/Mongols and/or Arab (Muslims). The Henna plant is native to Egypt, the women in the Middle East used to apply it as the Henna ceremony before marriage and also on many other occasions. The Arab traders brought the Henna plant and the Henna Night tradition to India. Even the Prophet used to apply Henna. So it is considered sacred and a Sunnah - Arabs still celebrate the Henna Night. There is even a Hadith in which a women comes to the Prophet complaining about her husband saying that the colour of the Henna on my hands hasn't even faded from the Henna Night and my husband is behaving such and such way. So the Henna Night function continued even when Islam came. You have to understand that if a group of girls are gathering together, celebrating the marriage of one and applying Henna, IT IS NOT haram. May Allah guide us all and improve our understanding of the Deen. Ameen.

this Dr has nothing to say about the Hamas massacre of Oct 7th and then says he had to say something about the civillian casualties in Gaza because people are dying. That is just selective pretending you care for people but only the ones you identify with- majority Muslim in Gaza. The innocent people were massacred on Oct 7th for being Jews. That selectivity regarding people on the ground that you show even here is Antisemitic. The fact that some of the people massacred were not Jewish does not negate the fact Hamas wanted to kill as many Jews as possible.
