The BBC World News music is based on the World Service jingle "Lillibulero".

And: 1999-2003 titles were also used on BBC News Overnight on BBC News 24 (BBC World connects to BBC N24 feed after countdown ends) without BBC World logo.

Actually it's the other way round: the UK domestic channel takes the global feed. That is vital for BBC World, because it allows a supposedly commercial channel to access licence fee funding.

First two clips from 2:09 were pretty dire after those smashing tunes by George Fenton and David Dundas, then at 2:25 it started to get better right through to 2020.

Almost remembered it, great to see what clips are on RU-vid, liked to have seen some full programmes, as I liked theme tune which was very hard to find as clean copy, all the tracks used.

First three mixed up, first two were from 1994, third was 1991 original branding, both title music was by George Fenton.

Not for the commerical satellite service that was transmitted by Star Television to Asia beginning in 1991. The third was the first used before the Flags opens in 1994.
