As an American who has lived in Europe most of the last 20 years, I find this theme strangely mesmerizing. I tune in to BBC at the top of the hour just to hear it... then I switch to France 24. (Just kidding.)

This is proper: what follows the colon isn't tenths and hundredths, but frames - 25 to the second. Sometime in 2023 they changed to tenths and hundredths, which can't display properly at 50 fields (25 frames) per second. (And no, they can't at 60/30 either.) Bring back the old! 🙂

I type in BBC one-minute news and I get THIS???

Intro no one skips

0:59 having the last few seconds of the 2008 countdown here really interrupted the ending of the 2006 countdown. They could have just let the 2006 countdown end normally and the ident play silently (as seen in the 2010 News Channel countdown). Or why not just stick to the 2008 World News theme? Didn’t know why they had to change it to an older version…
