Peter Woods ends the Boxing Day 1978 news on BBC1, and then fast forward to Friday 14 September of the following year. I seem to recall that 10.15 on a Friday night (when Points of View and the Burns and Allen show are on here) was BBC1's weekly regional zone in England at least... Did these shows only go out on BBC1 London and the South East while the rest of the Kingdom had its own programmes, I wonder?
