Sorry for the sound and vision issue on this, but the Lloytron VHS tape it was recorded on are really pretty poor and this one is on its last legs, squeaking and shedding and just about had it.
February 1991 was astonishingly cold and snow-heavy, and for a generation of late twenty/early thirtysomethings most of their childhood snow photos come from this same month (including mine!). Makes sense why they'd be showing this PIF despite how old it looks for the time.
Why did the contractors hire a nonce to do the voice over for a public information film? I know he was a cult figure until recently, but could they smell it?
Due to the dangers of frozen ponds, rivers or canals, that's why they say take an adult with you, wait till he tests the ice and stay close to the shore
That's a good idea - make an adult slither out to the middle of a frozen pond and have them test how thin the ice is. I nominate Rolf Harris to volunteer his services.
