every clip i've seen of ivan he's so energetic, his style is beyond that of current standards. quick and energetic till the end of every battle. k-mel and him went at it and even on that clip when ivan was injured he was superfast. not that speed is a determining factor of how good your bboy skill is, just saying he's fast is all.
Thats my boy!!!! Ivan is not even trying. Ive seen him go all out in person. I played in a band for ivan a few years ago.He is a humble dude....Much respect to you ivan.
Used to be terrified of Iron Monkey in middle school, that style is ridiculous and back before the time they started just rolling all over the damn floor. It's all footwork toprock mastery right here ughhh beautiful time
HISTORICAL VIDEO of a challenge of two super powerful stimulating and original bboys, a lot of them have been handed down. DEFINITELY ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SEEN HAVE SAVED IT in their folder.
Dude, this battle was from about 1998-1999. And it's 2009 now, that's nine to ten years. This video was not from 2006, because I used to watch this on napster back when I was in middle or high school, and I'm 24 now.
Ah man i remember watching this clip, but it never spurred me to trying out bboying, i was like 13 when i saw this clip....man i wish i started back then...
I love this joint Iron Monkey does where he polishes the ground with his shirt right, then he get's up and pretends to get ready to rock then "Slips" - That was just off the chain. Between 3:30 and 3:40. A little thing, but slick lol. I will still say this though, Ivan had more moves and more energy and remained solid through and through - Which is why dude takes this battle EASY.
yeah i used to watch it also around 2004 and 2005...and i know its age is longer than the time i saw it..from its video quality and how the people looks like in the video ..
the first tune is a classic mix by (i'll kick myself when i remember who, maybe one of big apple productions 12's) but it's mixing the guitar break of James Browns 'get up,get into it,get involved', the 'watch me now' and 'peace will come' bits from jimmy castor bunch 'it's just begun' and the beat from james Browns 'give it up turn it loose' i am the keeper of the sacred knowledge and i have spoken .....
That "white dude" isn't even white, he's latin, and he's not being arrogant, he's being confident, a big part of bboying as a dance. You could do the most amazing moves, but if you look unconfident, it takes away from the essence of the dance.
Respect I hope all this dancing has a pension and they put away for that old age when their bodies can't bust a move anymore. But it does take skill to hit this.
marcosg galvan The Pension is a lifetime of love of hiphop. Most bboys/bgirls have more than one skill. Look up crazy granma if ya wanna see people continuing through ''age''. Peace, Bgirl Dash
I got to slap hands with ivan and say what up in Modesto when he came back to town for the last Motown Boogie Down that came through, i forget what number it was....shit was iLL as fuck though, a Living Legend.
hey guess what guys. Ivan is my bboy instructor for 6-7 years. he thought me every thing i know and i can do mostly everything in the video. im only thirteen also. Dear Ivan, Thank you. you think he was awesome in this vid? you should see him in class. i also battled iron monkey.......he won...but i was close. thumbs up if you think thats sick.
