Budget by paycheck changed everything for us. I get paid every other week, and my husband gets paid every week. We were always tracking things and it was so complicated. After showing him one of your videos explaining the method we took a new look at our finances. Turns out my paychecks covered all our regular bills (rent, car loans, utilities, etc) so we created a joint BILLS account and whenever I get paid we send it to the BILLS account. The remainder is from his paychecks which cover the flexible stuff like food, gas, and random purchases. It's so much easier! What we see in our main account is what we can spend. No more guessing. It's been easier to save too! We also started a few sinking funds alongside our big savings. Thank you!

You are amazing, your budgeting method has help us so much. In March we will be debt free except our home. With 4 months worth of emergency fund and a cash flowed family vacation for this upcoming summer. The peace of mind we now have is priceless. Thank you Thank you!!!!

I was hoping to see her numbers side by side from the initial video to the follow up. As a visual person, when you're just talking about it I didn't really grasp it. But I did hear alot of debt got taken care of that is amazing.
I would have liked to see some visuals also including Jasmine’s current budget versus Miko’s proposed budget (what she did do versus what Miko suggested) as well as visuals on where she is now rather than only a discussion. Hopefully next time.
I have no debt but Miko's bbp method is the only budgeting sheet that made perfect sense to me when I needed to start budgeting pay. I grew up on Dave Ramsey and agree with his methods but I appreciate the slight diviation Miko's method takes in giving you "permission" to continue to live life not just put everything on hold to pay off the debt. Everyone should take serious look at their money and figure out what works best for their families, not just follow a single method to the letter.
I absolutely love the idea of cash envelope delegation for partners. I could see discussing this with my partner as a system when I am short term living with him in a few years. Pooling the money together, discussing our finances and delegrating and then splitting up the cash envelopes. It just fit so nicely ♡♡♡ Learnt so much during this.
Oh my gosh!!! This follow up is super cool! Way to go Jasmine and Hubby!!! We also separate spending based on responsibilities, but we keep our grocery and gas cashless because it works for us. Tracking our expenses has proven ME to be the bigger spender for Miscellaneous items and HUBBY on Eating out. Ironically, this has flip flopped! BIG CHANGES for 2021- I am stealing Ryen's allowance idea and creating a HIS/HER category. If I want to spend alot on something, I better save up for it or I won't have any money the next month! 😉 💙💜💙 💙💜💙
Yeah, I'm on the fence about the gas. Hubby has always put the gas on teh credit card and we pay it off at the end of each month and get points. So I pull the money with my paycheck, and then hold it until the end of the month. But maybe I will jsut have him pull the money into savings. I found an online savings account I can transfer from my joint account for free, so I'm going to do transfers for Christmas this year. I have a goal to NOT take on extra debt next Christmas!
@@jenniferwang3489 I actually like the point systems. I've done this before too, but my problem is NOT paying off the bill in full and them it adds up. Once I get a better grip on it, I may do that exclusively.

love Miko and did not use the "snowball" or "avalanche" method. I use what I call cost-benefit, which is the least amount of debt that has the bigger monthly payment, this way with a small "investment" I will have a bigger impact on my monthly budget. EVERYTHING ELSE HER BUDGET STRATEGY IS THE BEST, WE CAN LIVE, PAY DEBT AND SAVE ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!LOVE, LOVE LOVE, MIKO SYSTEM!
I think your budget by paycheck works so well because it can be modified to fit real life. At the end of the day, as long as you are meeting your financial goals it is a success.
My family heritage is Scottish and Norwegian. (I grew up dancing the Fling with my grandfather playing pipes.) I’d given up hope of ever traveling to Scotland or Norway. But After watching Budget Mom and getting inspiration for budgeting and saving, my heart is finally saying, “Maybe.... maybe you can hope again.”💟🙋♀️💃
