Honestly speaking, I don't have kids, but I feel like (as far as the entertainment industry goes) the best gig for a kid to have is voicing a cartoon character. Unfortunately, most of those roles goes to adults, but if child actors could get voice over work (much like how the Hey Arnold cast were all children when it first aired) those kids can work and yet still have a normal childhood without other kids mistreating them for their fame and are usually less likely to be treated like a stream of income from their parents. Being on a scripted show means more money...but more problems. I listened to an interview from one of the twins from the Suite Life of Zack and Cody and that was heart breaking as well. He was a very well spoken and well adjusted man after everything was said and done.

One of her parents should have stayed working while the other is the manager for her safety and a salary. The child salary goes towards their future.

7:54 I know a girl who had a child for housing. She and her mother had a volatile relationship and living with her father wasn't an option for her (he had rules and a new wife who wouldn't let her do as she pleased) so she got pregnant on purpose and got on a housing list. She waited until he was too far along to terminate before telling her mother. By the time she graduated high school (and had the baby) she was placed in her apartment.

Zendaya appears to be well grounded, intelligent and very respectful. I can only contribute that to her parents. I think the lines get blurred when the child actor starts making money and supporting the family, power dynamics can change and not for the better for the child. If the parent(s) are not in it for the right reasons, protecting their child above all else is the standard. I think her parents sacrificed a lot to make sure Zendaya’s fulfilled her dreams. I think Zendaya was smart enough to know that when she started making money, she had to contribute to making it happen. It’s the difference in helping a child grow or using that child to make money. Unfortunately, Zendaya missed a lot of great childhood moments, but she appears to be handling it with grace and gratitude.

I thought Zendaya wanted to act. I heard her say it several times. I’m sorry to hear if she’s suffered any pain. Her parents seemed to always be there and very protective even down what she was able to wear

There is a level of selfishness at having your child be in these spaces at such a young age. People confuse being able to do something and actually allowing for it to happen. There are a lot of talented child actors but just because they possess the talent doesn't mean you as a parent need to exploit it. I'd much rather prefer a parent who understands that their child has a gift in the performing arts but instead of greedily pushing the child towards pred🅰️tors. Use those years wisely and have the child hone in their craft with tailor made education but also still give them the freedom to be a child. Childhood is a right every child should have. And if said child still feels strongly about being in the performing arts as a young adult, of sound mind and of age then you may give them your blessing to pursue their passions. It also changes the dynamics and leads to a total role reversal when the child is the bread winner. Because as a parent you can't even discipline your child anymore when they are the one paying for all your bills and that is a dangerous position to be in because we have all witnessed the problems of young people having all that money at such a young age. Most kids that age are not making smart choices with their money and are spending it on all the wrong things, wrong people and picking up the wrong kind of habits. And there is not a darn thing you can say about it because you are no longer the parent who is supposed to provide for their child.

That make me so sad for her. We make sure our kids have their childhood, because we don't want them to be adults and try to live out their childwood then. RIDICULOUS

Wait a minute that comment about having children for housing is wild. But does the person mean like section 8 because they may be on to something 🤔

Right. Low income people might get government assistance per child, but whole housing?? 😂

Zendaya might be the breadwinner of her family, but she sure wouldn't be the breadwinner of her family if she ends up marrying Tom Holland.

Why are you all in your feelings over this woman talking about her life. She didn't say her parents were bad parents, she was expressing her thoughts on HER life. Comprehension is everything.

She’s the breadwinner because she makes the most money. It’s easy to complain after your parents made so many sacrifices for that soapbox❤
