Aaaah the smell of country air. Some of that drive noise are those smaller tires spinning faster than your other bikes to do the same speed.

Makes sense that derailleur tension may become more critical when running well north of 2000w. Clutch derailleur for the win...a fair amount more money as you know however., Only tip I have...is...with a 1 x in front, and decent derailleur cage length, many times you don't need quite as long a chain to satisfy all the gear spread as if you had a 2 x in front. So 'resize' your chain or recheck it to run as short a chain as possible on the big cog in back to keep the cage as wound tight against its rotory spring as possible to maximize chain tension when most critical which is on smallest cogs in back with lower contact ratio. Enjoying your vid's bro.

That’s basically how I’ve always done my mid drives and sized the chains and adjusted my derailleurs in the past, without knowing why, so thanks for that it kind of explains things lol, but yeah having the chain short as possible without over stretching the derailleur seems to work best When there is no clutch or chain stabilizer. The Acera works fine in this bike as i only use the low 3 or 4 gears . And i have a narrow wide chain ring that helps with chain retention a lot also. I would say with the bbs motors you want either a narrow wide chain ring, OR a good derailleur, both would be ideal of course. Thanks again Luke for the comment my friend 👍👍🙏

@@EBikeBuilder_ I figured you knew, but wanted to put it out there for others. I have been off one or two teeth chain too long on my 1x BBSHD 52v stock controller bikes and the chain would slip once in a while on small cogs when chains had just a hint of stretch...good to own a simple Park chain stretch checker tool. Chains stretch as you know..metal doesn't stretch but inner chain roller bearing holes elongate in tension due to abrasiion due to slightly worn internal chain rollers which is why they stretch. Honestly, you are a very smart young man and I only contribute mostly telling things you already know...lol. Ride safe and I appreciate all your teachings and will add interspersed with comedy and good spirit poking fun at the irony in life which speaks to your intellect. Your testing is related to my personal interest of learning about cost effective afermarket controller with higher power 72v batteries, the BBSHD having the demonstrated capacity to be reliable at higher wattage...aka high heat tolerance. Your controller testing with 72v is most educational to fanboys of higher power ebikes stopping short of e-motorcycles as many of us like to stop short of e-motorcycles. Btw, I come from a motorcycling background as well and still appreciate a high power gas motorcycle...though no longer own one due to awful drivers on the road.

@@lukewalker1051 Now that a nugget I needed to get. I'm about to resize my chain right now. 👍👍

@@JetSet4Life Another tip is...with 2000w+ power, there is a lot of involute stress on small cogs so.... 1. keep on eye on chain stretch which will cause the chain to be less conforming to the sharp radius of smaller cogs. 2. Run as short a chain as possible protecting for the largest cog in back...but you don't want your derailleur cage to be too far bent forward toward the crankset as you view from the right side of the bike. 3. Ideally a clutch derailleur works best and easier to change the rear tire/wheel because you can lock the cage with no tension...but clutch derailleurs have a stronger spring to work with many 1 x's 4. and lastly a tip that may not seem obvious. Cycling is all about gear inches. So pick your gearing wisely. Ideally when pushing 2K+ watts, you want to have your chain ride on as big of rear cog as possible. This is accomplished at high speed by as 'big a chainring' in front as possible. Big in front to big-ish in back not only slows cassette wear but keeps the chain from slipping in back because there is higher tooth engagement when running big power on smaller cogs.

Have you leaned your bike to the side to see at what angle your kickstand will strike? I'd get really familiar with it before leaning into a high speed curve. Stay safe Bro, I'm probably gonna get a Deore XT as my next upgrade.

When your battery gets low, It just does not have the same energy density so it can't push as hard. Same as like a AA AAA battery in flashlight still works just power density is just not there.

Dude that is one of the best examples of battery output I’ve heard. One of those things that just turns the lightbulb on in your head(no pun intended 😉) We’ve all seen that dimming💡

I've never driven a fat tire e-bike so maybe it handles differently, but I'd be terrified to go 38mph with those narrow handlebars.

Professional cyclists routinely descend at 60 mph in the Alps with 38cm wide drop bars on skinny tired racebikes with no motor. I come from a performance cycling background. Both my BBSHD bikes will go close to 40mph...one has a 40cm wide drop bar. Speed never bothers me.

@@lukewalker1051 Thanks for sharing Bro. I wasn't aware that an Aventon Sinch was a professional race bike with the geometry and wheel base to handle well at those speeds. Man I learn something new everyday in the RU-vid comments. I too like speed but I'm terrified of speed wobble.

Shouldn't the stand go on the other side? Never seen anybody put it on the drive side.

Regarding a few things: Personally I haven't noticed any throttling outside of the set limits the first one being where it will start to limit proportional to how close it gets to the second limit where it fully powers off. The temp one though seems to be that setting you showed in the video set at 15%, description sounds right and that lines right up with 60C. I would set it to 0%. For the battery starting to limit power it could be due to your voltage sagging into the cutoff zone, maybe try a better pack with less sag like the axums 21S? For the battery percentage yeah that's always slightly off, it gets changes when you set the series amount not the cutoffs. I like to think of it as the "healthy" percentage left, as that's where if you wanted to get a good cycle life you should follow. But going off voltage is my main go to. The rpm limit / high rpm behavior is strange and not how it should be, the motor sounds like either is running into a tuning issue where it just can't spin it fast enough without running into problems or you might have a erpm limit set. With your gearing you shouldn't be hitting any limit, for example HV's kits can spin the motor above 50k erpm, and if the conditions don't allow that like up a hill its a soft limit like the stock bafang controller

Thanks a bunch🙏 for the thoughts, good to know, i think there is a 25000 erpm limit on something that i saw in the settings some where?… i will have to find that, and try to increase it. Thanks mate good idea💡 !! I think the Flipsky limit is 150k erpm so i don’t think its that limitation but more of a setting somewhere that i have set low … hmm
