Quick question I have a. Small herd of pure bred Harford and since 1 of the contributors to beef master is Harford would that have and adverse effect on a cross?
We are crossing our Hereford's and Beefmasters and they are awesome. They are small at birth, are full of vigor, beautiful and grow great. I like them better than I did the Angus cross.
Hi Tim, I think Beefmasters are a wonderful cross on any breed, but it depends on what your goals are. If you are traditional dairy, I am not sure they would be a fit. If you are a grass dairy they might be a great fit. If you are raising beef calves on grass, they are a home run. Our cattle are easy calving, having been selected for this for many generations. But you can also use EPD's to identify the easiest calving genetics.
