Also, while RAW ap does increase your minimum damage when fighting someone who does DR check you, based on the reddit post, only 5% of your AP is counted. I.e 700 AP getting DR checked by someone with 800 DR = effective AP is 700*.05=35 effective ap. Some other things to keep in mind is how much human damage is available to swap/how much human damage you already have without including crystals/buffs: TL/DR: Your base human damage is 28 in most cases. You can get a maximum of 56 human damage from crystals & 24 human damage from artifacts. This is a total of 108 human damage that is swappable via crystals/artifacts. Harmony draught human adds 11 human damage (+ RAW ap) and Indignation adds 25 human damage. The theoretical max human damage someone can run is around 133-135. If your minimum human damage needed is above that, best to run RAW ap since you are not going to be able to break through the DR check. Thorough breakdown below. 1) Most people's base human damage will be 28 (18 from MH, 10 from AH) -- exceptions would be C20 Kzarka/Dande users who have 32 - Pen BS MH = 18 Human Dmg (+18 all species) vs Pen Kzarka C20 = 20 Human Dmg (+20 all species) - Pen BS AH = 10 Human Dmg (+10 all species) vs Pen Dande C20 = 12 Human dmg (+12 all species 2) The max amount of human damage you can get from crystals is about 56 (could be wrong here but this is what I am tracking now). - RBF Vipers x 2 = 20 Human Dmg - Glorious Olucas x 2 = 14 Human Dmg - RBF Carmaes x 2 = 16 Human Dmg - Red Spirit Crystals x 2 = 6 Human Dmg 3) 24 Human Dmg from the lighstone set The Wilds: Human - This set is as much "PvP AP" as the All-Out Attack set if DR check is passed. If you fail the DR check with this set on, better to run 4 AP stones or All out, since the human damage then would be voided. 4) The max amount of human damage you can get from buffs is 25 human damage (grief indignation draught). Most prefer Harmony Draught: Human for 11 Human Damage (which also has raw AP)
Well im 777 ap without my +20 ap buff , my pvp ap is 886 which is combined with human damage . At least thats what garmoth shows. So i need them to have less than 797 dr to apply all my damage? Actually if i could the - dp addons and skills which be quite doable unless its a full dp meme , right , right?
@@JonModafokin1 I'd plug it into the calculator. -DP skill + skill addons have a much larger effect on the calculation then RAW AP or Human DMG since it directly reduces the DR check. But once you start bringin up whether or not you are able to DR debuff then you also gotta think if they have a innate DR buff from Q-block + skills that will give addon of +20 DP. I'd say are your AP, 99% of the people you are going to fight, you are going to pass the DR check. I'd run full human damage in your situation since you get more pvp ap from rbf vipers/olucas etc if you pass DR check.
@@POMNK pretty sure that’s a meme item from spots that are 5% ap capped. Any green offhand is probably out classed by boss weapon when it comes to PvP damage
I truthfully had no idea Human Damage was nullified when failing the DR check. I thought it was just mitigated by some arbitrary percentage. This game is so weird.
But if you fail dr check, would 5% of your ap be dealing any damage, even if you ap stacking but sacrificing HD? So isn’t it better then to just stack as many hd+ap to pass dr check more often than to focus on that 5% ap that still will do no damage?
Yeah if you fail DR check even f you have 100 more raw ap its effectively only 5 more raw ap that is counted vs 0 counted in a human damage build. I think the next calculation would be which is more effective to pass the DR check from a unit of 1 human dmg vs 1 ap.
so basically: 1. blight is dead outside of PvE 2. 24 ap -15 DR is bis lighstone set for blast builds 3. using human damage crystals such as rbf vipers and ollucas in combination with a hybrid build (cadry+iron wall / centair + blurr) is a complete waste (stack DR/eva and macalods instead) good to know.
Blight is still good if you are glass cannon. Raw AP is valued over human damage most of the time, but if you are a glass cannon you are prob 90% sure you are passing most people's DR checks with ease. So if you are full glass, human damage becomes better since human dmg is 1:1 to ap and you can get more human damage than raw AP via crystals. Some crystals that have both RAW ap and human damage such as red spirit crystals, rbf powers (5 raw ap, 3 human dmg) are now more favored when you don't know who you are fighting. But if you are sure to pass the DR check you gain a good amount of pvp ap. - RBF Viper 10 (+4-5) vs Ultimate Macalod - Glorious Olucas (+1-2, 1% atk speed) vs Ultimate Macalod - RBF Carmae (+2-3) vs Ultimate Macalod The difference do add up, you can see up to 20 more pvp ap running human damage...just gotta be sure you pass the DR check otherwise that human damage you have is being wasted.
@@Travesty blight isnt a crystal so youre not sacrificing anything by swapping to all out attack. they are both 24 ap or hd, the difference is all out attack gives 5% crit damage but you loose -15 dr... you will be DR checking double cadry valks, while doing normal damage to everyone else... the ONLY problematic people you really run into as a glass cannon player is people stacking omega DR to the point where you cant pressure them. i can get 770 DR just with double cadry and no DR passive/Q block/addons. If i was a valk holding Q block thats already 810 DR which can only be bypassed by hardcapped 850+ ap... If youre sacrificing 24 ap for 24 human damage in that scenario, youre literally greifing
@@ROACH123_ Yeah it's a trade off for sure. Given how strong DR is, losing 15 DR is going to feel pretty bad imo but if you aren't pressured that easily then it may be the best option
@@Travesty the way i see it, in bdo someone is either: Geared glass Geared hybrid Not geared So depending which category someone falls into, they would have a different meta build. Also, the whole point of being glass cannon is that they are made of glass, they sacrifice defensive stats
@ROACH123_ Dont forget about -dp addons and skills , you remove 40 dr in 99% of cases cuz most classes run the addons on first skills that already have - dp . So i think human damage is still the best . And in most cases people are gonna run something similar to you . There are 1 or 2 dp memes in a comp WHICH ARE NOT YOUR TARGET AS A GLASS CANNON , so why bother
@@Travesty Sorry I watched your video and I don't think I understand how this works. Why is the actual damage from human ap reduced to 0? Is this formula from somewhere official? Did PA state this was how DR vs. AP works? I understand the concept but not the effects.
@@briarbe @bogwalkbully This is the source of the pvp damage calculator. Human damage is technically species damage. If you fail the DR check, human damage is not factored in. It's a similar concept to PVE if you fail to hit the AP CAP, species damage is just worse (still counts). If you fail the DR check, species damage is not factored in, and your ap is only 5% effective. THis is not a PA statement but a study done by www.reddit.com/r/blackdesertonline/comments/1ews78o/pvp_damage_formula_reversed_pvp_damage_calculator/
