PSA: Certain special crops can be exchanged into white or high-quality crops (as of 21/09/22). This has been added to bdolytics as a feature, and I explain it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6AMvMVFkx4U.html After making the video, I noticed that not everything in the settings is immediately obvious to everyone. So here are all settings explained: i.imgur.com/JcVa2gS.png Bonus points for everyone who can name the two locations in the intro.

This cooking guide is a godsend to the BDO guide-scene! There is way too much misinformation out there in terms of not taking all the pieces of the puzzle into consideration when calculating the final result. Time spent gathering and prepping meals for the final batch, silver spent on pre-orders for tedious-to-get ingredients and the value in certain ingredients being sold for convenience on the MP versus using them to cook further. It sounds super great to earn like 80b silver in one day of cooking only to realize the prep for it took 6 months of 3-4 hours actively gathering every day and the end result is like 130m/h. Then again some people might value the cooking experience gained at a 4x rate of the silver they end up with which then would result in a whooping 520m/h and I'm just stupid for not understanding simple math, which is mostly true, I just find it to be very misleading for newer players and those who haven't gone through some of the hardships of learning by mistake or just doing before thinking for themselves. I am far from everything remotely close to being a smart specimen and personally just hit the cute and insignificant milestone of Guru after recently coming back to the game and the singular point I am trying to make by ranting as much as I have done by this point is to say that I really, really appreciate your guide and how thorough you are in the way you present the information you are giving. Thank you for this rarity! Now I am signing off to binge the rest of your content

Ah, thanks for this. Gonna watch it while fiddling around with it next time, but for now it already helped explain the collapsing. I hit the minus just to make the recipe more readable. You know, collapse all but one, then expand and re-collapse one by one so I could more easily see the recipe. But this changed all the numbers constantly and it was confusing.

This is by far the best cooking guide I have seen. However there is one error in it and that's the use of the "tax" button on the input. You only should use it for stuff you already have in your inventory / storage and where you wanna check if selling it directly to the marketplace is better then crafting stuff with it and then selling that stuff. For example if you have left over snake meat because you gather a little bit more then you need in compare to scorpion. Do you sell it directly or craft stuff with it? Here you use the "tax" button. It's for stuff that is sitting and stockpiling in your storage over time. You should not use it for stuff you are going to gather just to cook the current recipe. Because then you move profit from the gathering into the cooking, that will trick you into thinking your cooking is good profit when in reality it's not. It's the same logic like your 60 mil / h basic cooking cost that you described in part 2. If only the "tax" check makes it profit you are better off gathering and cooking something else in almost all cases. And yes bdolytics should separate "gather" and "tax" to avoid people falling for that trap.

I've been telling people that taxing self-sourced materials is the way. In full honesty, that's only half the truth, and it depends on the reference point. - If gathering materials is a worthwhile activity in itself, then selling materials is the cutoff point in terms of profit and taxing is fine. - If you gather just to cook the materials, the alternative is buying that material. In that case, you would look at the pre-tax gathering profit and consequently not tax the material in bdolytics. - And in the extreme case, where the market price is not sufficient (say scorpion meat), materials should even be valued above the market price. Having said that, there's also the perspective of how to communicate that info. If this video can help people be more aware of item values and especially that self-sourced items are not free, I'd already be happy. And the full story of item valuation is something for a future video. Cheers

Hey man, can you make a video about cooking for returning players? Topics such as what changed, new gathering spots, gear, tips and some refreshers to remember etc? I'm guru 16 and i left just before o'dyllita was released therefore i dont have any idea about the new regions.

Off the top of my head: - lightstones and artifacts - Ody recipes - Mountain of Eternal Winter recipes - Mountain of Eternal Winter hunting spots and hunting is the go-to for getting red meat - Marketplace capacity and buy/sell quantities increase Maybe I can make a video about it later down the line. Also, the lifeskill Discord has a tldr-patch-notes channel that you could go through: discord.gg/yrC4cbFH3b

Amazing guide, i just dont really get the use rare procs part, what are the ratios of rare procs when using them instead of the normal product?
@summer_rains
@summer_rains 3 месяца назад
one rare proc counts for up to two regular procs. So for example, if a dish takes 2 grilled sausage (green proc), you can replace them with 1 smoked sausage (rare proc). If the dish only takes one regular proc though, the rare proc only counts as 1 regular as well.

I really love your videos, I also like using the site with gather + cooking per hour rate Thats why i am confused when other life skillers write in chat that they make 800m/h cooking, i checked with higher mastery and i still would not gain that much
@summer_rains
@summer_rains Год назад
They may not be properly separating cooking from gathering/hunting profits. It's quite common to mix those up, and if in doubt, you could ask them where exactly their profit is coming from.

Hey, thanks for them videos! Can you also advice how much price on Imperial Delivery box is changing depending on Cooking mastery? I'm at 1100 now, with CP 400 I can make 160M/day, its hardly a profit considering I gather and farm everything myself. To buy ONE IV Manos ring I need 24 weeks = 8 months, and thats only one ring in set of six, and even that is not BiS. Feeling kinda demotivated to proceed further.
@summer_rains

Hi, imperial cooking will only ever make a limited amount of money due to the daily quota. To make more money beyond imperials, you can pick an active lifeskill like hunting or sniper hunting. That can make 500m up to 1 bil/H on the high end and that will get you to the Tet manos much faster.

is cheese still profitable? when i look at it the price of milk seems too high for the price of cheese
@summer_rains
@summer_rains Год назад
Depends on your server. With the raised price caps there's a good argument for selling milk straight-up now. You can calculate the profit on processing cheese in bdolytics: bdolytics.com/processing/market/9062. If your alternative is selling the milk to the market, make sure to tax the milk. This lifted the profit from -10 mil/H (buying milk) to 30 mil/H (over selling the milk) for me at 2k processing mastery: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/589711952234676224/1025028865141264415/unknown.png

Just wondering, for you cooking and selling grilled sausage is a -500 mil but when I look it up for myself it's +350mil profit per hour, I'm NA btw
@summer_rains
@summer_rains 2 года назад
A big difference is probably the price of crops. I have all crops selected as special (even the onion in grilled sausage) because I don't farm. Just checked bdolytics. With white crops selected, I can get to +400 mil/H on NA. Keep in mind that white crops are severely underpriced on the market, so the 400 mil/H cooking profit relies on farming the white crops. It's a bit hard to explain on the spot, and I'll explain in more detail in the next video.
