Great series Philip! The barrel chooses the pellet, MOST of the time. Some barrels could care less.

if your flexor muscles are tight - palm side - it will cause more elevation because your wrist will not be able to bend /flex backwards as far but it will also tend to put your gun in slight rotation. Regarding head size v skirt.... it seems like the skirts ability to seal evenly circumferentially against the barrel's bore, is equally important to head size. But i am still learning. I do know that some guns that insert the pellet with a probe (rather than fingers) will sometimes cant the pellet slightly during insertion, inviting head damage or flattening; especially so in magazines that use the pellet as a detent or stop in the feed cycle.
