This scene had the worst of the damaged/spliced frames in the film. Since there was background motion, to fix these, I used multiple frames from before and after the damaged frame to create a composite image, replacing the damaged areas with elements from nearby intact frames.
This scene had a number of splices with missing frames. Unfortunately, we did not have access to a secondary scan to replace those frames. Instead, I took the missing frames from a DVD print. I upscaled the frames to 4k, resized them to match the proportions of the scan, inserted them, and tweaked to color the match the scan. The final result turned out surprisingly well.
