The new iPhone app- Be My Eyes reviewed by yours truly. Watch to see the sign up process and my first attempt at using this iPhone application.
After reviewing the video (once my brain started functioning again), I realized that the number of users of the app is shown in thousands, so .45 means that there are an extra 450 people, not a half a person using the app. So.. yeah, I'm definitely a mathematics authority. Tune in next time when we cover basic addition and subtraction! Ha!

Wheelie Blind Can't agree more. At least in China, the price of an iPhone is almost 3 times the average price of an android phone.

That's fantastic! So few apps are actually helpful, never mind helpful in an important way. I hope to get a call (signed up yesterday), but if it takes a while I'll take that as a good sign that people needing help have plenty of it!

Now there are 160,794 blind and 2,911,446 volunteers!!! Those are amazingly beautiful numbers! Almost 3 million people on-call and ready to help. There's still such good in this world.

As of right now. 239,251 blind. 4,075,495 volunteers! I see volunteers get discouraged by the lack of phone calls they receive and even some complaints in the reviews about this. And as much as I wish I could get a few calls a day, I’m way more thankful this is how it is instead of the numbers being flipped.

Great review of the app. It seems that there are loads of sighted volunteers on it but the blind community hasn't twigged to it yet. I'm sighted but have a mobility disability so know how frustrating it is when you're trying to be independent but there's something that you've found you just can't quite manage. I downloaded this app earlier today. I’m eager for my first call because I just love helping people. It warms my heart. Also, you have a beatles poster!!!! I love the beatles and i have the same poster haha.

Hello! I have installed it yesterday for helping out the people, but still got no calls. I fear it will not even happen in the near future coz they got too many volunteers. What do you suggest? LOL

Nik Nikolayev I've had this app for a couple of years and hardly ever get a call. I've heard blind people have to wait a long time for a helper. Strange.

Mansi Bhatt i think it’s safe. As long as the 8 year old knows that they are supposed to just receive help and not do whatever the other person says

The 8-year-old can have an adult show them how to use it properly, including using it more than once for confirmation from a second helper.

Isn't that wonderful and fantastic that somebody can be using the technology and his brains to do something so good for the others? While in other places they are creating video games training people how to shoot and kill ? Congratulations to Denmark to set the standards high!
