When my husband and I retired in 2020, we moved to a beautiful, small village in Spain. Just 700 people, 20 minutes from the sea and beautiful views of the mountains around us. We also have a small grocery, pharmacy, bakery, two cafe/bars, and a school. One third of the village is now made up of foreigners and the mayor created an association to help extranjeros become part of the community. Take a chance if you are willing to become part of a new community,--you won't regret it.

You can control the speed if you find it too fast. Unfortunately, the side effect is that they sound drunk...

I have this issue as well as hearing/understanding people who speak very fast. What I do now is click on the settings gear and change the "playback speed" 1 notch from normal to x75. This works great for me! 🤓 This will only change the speed for the day, you will need to adjust it as needed.

I sincerely hope all those that decide to relocate to a small village anywhere in Europe, actually do their best to assimilate to the area= language, customs etc. Instead of moving in, and trying to make it a mini USA, Germany, Canada, etc etc. Respect the area you have chosen...it & it's people have been there much longer than you have. You are both doing an incredible job of being "ambassador's " for Italy and this particular area. Keep up the great work!

Until now my visual knowledge of Scicily was by watching the Inspector Montalbano television series. :-) I am really enjoying seeing it through your eyes and learning more. I will never be able to visit now, but if I were younger I'd be over like a shot - probably applying to be your nanny and sharing life through Luce's eyes too. I enjoy ALL your videos! But these videos with the houses I love because they make my imagination take flight. Stairs in the house and in the streets are my favorite, for me nothing is a better precursor for good health. My mother walks a lot and she’s enjoying a beautiful, long life. The maternal instinct in Luce is such a joy to see, look at her pulling her stroller up the hill! The little kitchen is so cute! I wish to know more about the inhabitant. Watching you guys pulling those hills up and down explains why later Italians moved to the coasts and flatter areas where cars can navigate better. Only a select few will seize the values of these mountain villages and want to settle there, not to mention the cost of renovation. So picturesque!

It's so important to bring people, life, and economy back to these small, beautiful, sea view villages and it's good to use your platform to help bring attention to this. I love those beautiful Sicilian tiles which make me happy to see...so timeless and colorful and still in great condition! I hope everyone from around the world will go have a home there and contribute to the community in a positive way. Just think about how lively and thriving these villages will be again. Of course people want to be near you beautiful people! You're like magnets. The town will maintain its authenticity as long as corrupt real estate wolves are kept at bay. You are authentic and that little town is beautiful! May it stay that way. Thanks for showing those beautiful houses. The entrance to the first one is charming & inviting, and the house is warm and cozy. You're doing a wonderful job, Sara & Luca, opening up the town to people who can appreciate its quiet beauty! (Don't invite loud people and their smelly barbeques, though!) Luca's eyes are beautiful like the sea and sky.

Have you ever smelled Italian food? Some would say it's smelly too! 😅🤣 ...but I adore Garlic ...the more the better, so it smells wonderful to me. We cook with it almost every meal, but we also barbeque ...and we aren't as boisterous as most of the Italians we know ...more's the pity.

my sister's father in law would come to Sicily every year for six months at a time and go back to America for the rest of the year. He was originally from Sicily and he missed it very much, I can understand why he missed it because it is so beautiful and peaceful looking there.

I love watching Luce , she’s just like my grandson who is also half Italian , his father is from Rome and his other Nona lives there. It’s interesting to see inside of these beautiful homes , I’ve seen them from outside whilst on my trips to Italy 🇮🇹. So many stunning homes and farms abandoned , so sad , I wish I was young enough to relocate , love Italy 🇮🇹

I can't help but fantasize getting either of the houses and taking morning strolls ro meet Luce and the cats. I have a 4 and 6 yesr old and when we watch tour vids they're always asking about when we can visit Luce. Wonder if the olive oil hits off if you'll be willing to hire foreigners? My husband does landscape in the US. I'm studying to be a teacher. It would be awesome teaching international students in the town. Otherwise idk what we could live off of. Husband and I are mid 30s. We live in Phoenix which has bad air, intense heat, getting more homeless and druggies and not good or ideal for me. I'd leave in a heartbeat. No one knows their neighbors, everyone is just locked up in their home and go from work to home. Life is so dull and depressing like this...

If you speak Spanish, your transition to Italian shouldn't be that difficult ...as they are both 'Romance Languages' ...meaning they got their start from Latin (Rome. or the Roman Empire).
