The Germans would use ballbearings instead of bushings in a turret. In a tank which had an average lifespan of three weeks. Poor design decision. Also the tanks were too big to easily transport by rail, under powered, overheated, needed improved roads to traverse well, had poor transmissions etc... But they looked great on paper. The T34 was a much smarter design.

The top mount Radiator works better then u think, i dongt get cpu temps more than 50 Degrees. in every fractial meshy case i get over 60 Degrees.... i dont know how, but the hot air went better out of the box then it Looks like.. i dont understand all this comments, the airflow is more then good…..... @the cleanest war I have same question. My 9700k just does NOT overclock to 4.9 because of terrible temps (basically throttling under Prime95). I use Noctua NH-D15S. Can this case even handle air cooling inside - or water loop is a must?

@@Kotkamusic If you are serious about this case and silence you definitly want to consider non-tempered glass version. Case itself is beautiful and professional looking. But I sold Pure Wings fans almost immediately because they were making a buzzing sound even on minimal RPMs. Can you believe it? And yes, it's toasty. Also be very careful with the CPU you choose. It seems we are degenerating into noise problems again because modern CPUs are terribly hot and to tame them even quietest coolers make noise to cool them down. Underckocking/undervolting may help. On idle, you can't hear a thing - but you wouldn't either in a more open case with good coolers. Generally we are far from ideal to have a complete silence and good performance. With the heat hardware components produce it's simply impossible nowdays. Then to cool more RPMs are needed - this case can still be noisy. But if you are recording sounds from the mic or singing you need absolute ambient silence. Here how it sounds at about 40cm away with all fans at full speed (except GPU) followed by GPU fans at full speed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GN4LpgSxxQM.html

HAving the choice of a very closed-off case with mighty restricted airflow and more open & meshed design like CoolerMaster Master Case Pro 5 I go with the latter. I can spin my fans slower which makes the whole computer quiet. If I ever want superior airflow for some extreme OC I can spin them up. Having a super-quiet but airflow restricted solution like this Be quiet I have no option to have superior airflow when I need it.

Cant the mid part of the front of the case be opened, not the whole section? Really liked the rerview, I thought you were someone else but I was very mistaken, thanks for the video! Would be great to hear some actual temps from cpu and gpu when gaming, so many say its toasty and hot on 11/12/13900ks,900k, but most people dont use that and dont overclock it to the max so with a general 9/11/12/13600k's and a 2070/3070/4070, what are gaming temps? If anyone own it please let me know!

SIFU LORENZO And you are right, The temperature of my CPU is too high. That because of I have a case BY QUIET 601 At the top it is so isolating that it was not possible to let 2 fans air through no let flow not enough space to allow the fans to flow through the air and cool so In the meantime, have it adjusted after a lot of thought? And having my radiator straight now is not the best configuration but it is if there is no other possibility. If the pump is not higher than the radiator of course this is also a good look at whether this could and can be done, Now my CPU spins between 32 and 35 degrees and my liquid at 29 degrees Anyway, thanks for dis video it gives me helped to adjust my configuration and now have a better computer. Thanks

The problem has already been criticized many of the predecessors here in Germany and again was not respected, the tower all have a bad air circulation. Normally, the company speaks for quality in terms of their power supplies and fans but from the development of the Towers they should keep their hands off.

I've never tested the 600, but the 601's airflow dynamics are extremely restricted as detailed in this video. Fan controller, yes. This was shown toward the end of the video and in several b-roll shots.

What about adding a fan in the optional bottom position? As I understand the design, the whole bottom of the case is actually an air intake (but I am not sure). A fan sucking air from the bottom would not be restricted (as those in the front panel) and could potentially improve the total air flow a lot.

Exactly what I found with the 700. I have the 360 silent loop and had to fit it at the front as it just cooked with my x5650@4.2 :( I installed it at the front and have to ramp the fans to full speed and it's still not good (compared to a noctua dh14 in a cheap Deepcool tesseract. Front fans - I added a noctua in addition to the 3 120s in the rad' AND another noctua into the basement. Great looking, but fails on functionality for me - I'm tempted to hack a couple of 120mm vents in the top...
@xumu4
@xumu4 5 лет назад
Just bought this case, It has really high quality. BUT: the window is not very good at sound insulating, in fact it resonates with the fans. And here we go to Pure wings 2: they ARE loud. Can hear some grinding-like noise at fan switch 1 position, very audible at 3, louder than air noise. Why have you put the pure wings in silent based case - I can't really understand, this is disappointing. BTW: i've replaced stock fans with TY-141 running @700 rpm and now they are much quieter AND my cpu idle temp dropped from 37 to 34, gpu temp dropped from 40 to 36

So many things I like about the Be Quiet 601 but the cooling does give me pause. The build I'm planning, I'm going from a larger sized micro-ATX case (Corsair) back to a mid-tower ATX so I'll have flexibility in the future to reuse the case, no matter the MB size. The Be Quiet is very nice but I want to get the best potential cooling as possible to future proof the case. I hesitate due to the points brought up: the front and top panels restrict air flow. I've seen several manufacturers offer the feature of a removable section of the front panel, allowing you to have silence but if removed, you have a grill/filter for better airflow. I also like Fractal's ModuVent™ top panel that allows for silence or airflow. Hope Be Quiet rethinks design as I suspect there a lot of users that steer clear of their cases due to the heat issue. I'm now down to a Maingear VYBE and a Fractal case (still weighting the diffent ones).

this case is good for those whos not doing serious overlocking and want balance between thermals and noise, that way even if airlow is not that good as u say, it doesnt matter that much cuz e.g. CPU is 67C instead of 62C or VGA is 75C instead of 70C, but all in all everithing is quiet, its a good trade of for those.

Science studio this one is destined for sound studios in home where there isno Pc room. It is exactly what we need in the business as wenever overclock and we leave ddr4 at 2133. We use passive graphic cards usually and a h20 cpu cooler is cheap to buy for a professional audio system. After all when I OC and play game I can always open the side panel and put my fan blowing the old classic way :) But I believe its not that bad if u replace these fans with some better ones...Love the case , looks solid, will buy !!

I just need a quiet case as my current HDDs make too much noise (x2 8TB 7200rpm drives). My cooling solution is a corsair H60 at the back. Would this case work well if I placed a fan at the top rear as an intake (to feed extra air into the H60)? Or does that kind of thing attract a lot of dust when it's not exhaust?

I can confirm that overclocking 9700k even to 4.6GHz on all cores is very hard with the front panel on, simply a no-go (will eventually throttle in Prime95 without AVX). Removing front panel drops temps by 7-10C. What I really like about this case though is that when GPU fans start roaring in conjunction with the case fans, overall noise is still more tolerable and kind of dampened in some frequencies than more open case I had before.

this is a bad case because its trying to cater to everything. if you make a case made for air cooling only it will be much better. if you want lowest possible noise, best airflow in a case. you need 3x140mm front fans, side panel with sound dampening and exhaust fan. no psu shroud and let psu draw air from the bottom. and seal of top of case. 140mm exhaust at back. . i have not found any deviation of what i suggested now that improves upon noise and cooling. im just tired of seeing these half ass cases with flaws.

Sounds as though you misunderstood what I said. Your average PC builder will be fine using this case at the expense of airflow. But at a certain point, fans ramp up so loud to compensate for the toasty hardware that the build is no longer "silent," defeating the purpose of the case altogether.

The trick is to install an overkill amount of radiator surface (minimum 280/360mm per 100W) to get those low temps while keeping fans below 500rpm. At that point HDDs are too loud so SSD-only is a must.

I’ll be entirely honest: though it’s shallow, I will never buy a Be Quiet product if it has its brand name displayed on it. Building a sick PC that says Be Quiet! Inside is about as generic looking as building a PC that says Cooler Master inside. Again, I know it’s shallow but I can’t be the only one who feels this way. Noctua does the opposite. Their chromax line looks sick and their logo is a little owl that’s about as sneaky on the edge of their fans as it is on the 1 dollar bill. Cryorig also looks great. Again subtle branding...

I like quiet computers. I understand the point of a case like this. But I don't understand sacrificing basic performance to shave half a decibel off the noise profile. Our computer sits right next to the TV. It's in an antique Thermaltake case that's made of rice paper and balsa wood. If it wasn't for the ticking fan you wouldn't even know it's running. Just how much difference could that 601 case make? Granted, there's only two case fans, the Hyper 212, and the Gigabyte Windforce RX460 making noise in my rig. But even with a plexi window in the side and vents on top for a 240 rad the thing is still quiet enough to be unnoticeable. I just don't see what they were trying to gain from that design.

I love the side panels all they need to do is make a open front model for us that want more air. I want a louder case than restricted air flow.

I've bought it on sale as it was for the price of silent base 600. I'm planning to have 240 mm aio radiator in the front, not planning to push 200% from the components inside. Will it be good?

Great review fully agree the main benefit of this case is silent. You made a little mistake when assembling front coolers, in your case, they get much louder, the standard layout is more silent.

Louder, sure, but the temps went up in the normal config as well. So my conclusions would have been worse 😂

@@GregSalazarI've tested CPU (i78700) temperature in CPU-Z stress test with different fans (2 silent wings 3) location, the temperature the same 68C ambient 26C. But I removed the front panel and just left dust mesh.

Quick question in some of the B roll footage I saw you had a graphics card mounted vertically with a passive cooler on it, how would a passively cooler card perform in terms of thermals if mounted vertically?
@GregSalazar
@GregSalazar 6 лет назад
It's a waterblock, not a passive cooler.
@React2Quick

looked like one. *shrugs* Though I am still curious how a passively cooled card would perform and the thermals of it vs a card that's actively cooled, that is vertically mounted inside of a case.

Doubt a rad is gonna help with airflow either.

Keen for the tests, I'm planning on putting dampening pads in my case if it stays silent despite higher fan rpm/thermals.

Marc why would you want your PC parts to go damp? Wouldn’t dampening them greatly increase the risk of a short circuit?

You would think a company that specializes in quiet and PERFORMANCE that at least work as intended. They literally just took a previous design and said "we are going to make this one extra quiet". Then stuck foam on the side panels choking air flow on top and then made the front panel choke any intake further. As a result the case makes everything run louder and hotter also decreasing hardware longevity. I have vowed to try not to buy anything German to avoid supporting they economy; and so far I have no reason to buy anything German and the case is shining example of why German engineering is incredibly overrated for the most part.

My problem with BQ cases is the length; the only place I can put is on top of my dresser and all BQ cases are too long. If they did make a case that wasn't basically the length of a case with 5.25inch bay(s), I'd buy it immediately
