We do not need the intercession of Saints so long as we have the intercession of Christ.

Those are two different kinds of intercessions. So yes, we don't need the intercessions of the Saints in the way we need that of Christ. The Christian life isn't a solitary thing. It's a good and wonderful thing to have many people praying for us, beseeching God for our salvation. Just as we should be praying for the world.
