This is a sweet hymn that Ascend the Hill took and enhanced for this generation. I absolutely love the added bridge as I feel that it doesn't "add" to the hymn, but rather captures the essence of it: "O God be my everything, be my delight. Be Jesus, my glory, my soul satisfied." I think this song will be a jewel for the church over the next several years.
May Christ be the treasure of our hearts and the satisfaction of our souls!

This song, over a thousand years old, moves this old atheist deeply. I spent my youth on my knees praying in my dear mother's home made shrine. Alas, that is all gone now...but this beautiful song and the sentiment behind it still moves me so. Thank you for your lovely interpretation.

The original was written about 1100 AD, so this battle-shield verse may be a modern addition. Not sure but suspect that is the case.

God heard my prayers and we're back together. We were separated because other woman (they were flirting only by phone), and while he was away I was praying for him to not get involved with her and thanks God he never did anything with her. After some weeks he ask me to get back together, he said that he realized how he missed me and told that girl that they would no longer chat. This is only God's power, when my spouse left my home, he was willing to start a relationship with the other woman and he felt he was in love, but God changed his heart. The other girl was trying to convince him to be with her but he didn't want to. My God made a miracle and that's why I praise him!!!
