The Atlanta Tams...Fall semester '77. Worked in a frat bar--to see what I had missed. (Bar got a line or two in Rolling Stone once). Played almost exclusively Beach Music. I was a nothern soul dj for years before learning to play guitar and then working in soul bands all around europe and America,They love it as much as i love you. Like I said on another page, this is "Beach Music Meets Northern Soul." I used to watch Joe Pope and the Tams do this at shows in 1968. You don't look like Joe, Sarah, but I like it nonetheless. Wish you could see the Tams with their original choreography--they were as much fun to watch on stage as to listen and dance to. I think all the original members are gone now...there is a new generation of Tams, but they are a southern and Beach Music institution still. Amazing how a phenomenon of the American South, Beach Music, has entered the realm of British Northern Soul.
