now this is how you do a collaboration. both artists have equal vocal time and with the production being a mix of both of their musical preferences (bea with electric guitar and Laufey with strings and piano (especially during the break at 2:00)), it's so perfectly done
THIS!! im okay with the Feature format that most artists do but when i see a colab i want it to be a new flavour that feels familiar. I think thats why i love this song so much.
This is the type of song you’d hear at night, during the summer when it’s slightly humid but warm and the air smells of the sea and the DJ plays something like this while you’re playing cards with your friends. Just outstanding. Bravo!
Swore I'd seen you before Watched you walk through the door Somethin' in your eye Reminded me of somebody I used to know You touched my back I took your hand Somethin' from your touch felt shockingly familiar And I swore I'd seen you before Oh, I swore I'd seen you before Underneath the sheets You enchanted me And whispered sweet nothings in my ear I shivered beneath you All wrapped up in embers It was a night to remember Then I walked away You asked me to stay Know you're thinkin' of what could've been But you've become someone I've seen before I swore I'd seen you before Underneath the sheets You enchanted me And whispered sweet nothings in my ear I shivered beneath you All wrapped up in embers It was a night, enchanting night To remember Mm
I love how the instrumentals combine Laufey's classical jazz vibe with the violins and piano and then it still has Bea's indie guitar and somehow that doesn't clash at all but sounds amazing. It's a harmonised collaboration, not a feat. in one of the two styles
@@Tom-rf5tm ever is such a stretch, I love them but cmon theres greater artists that have collabed in the history of humanity. Of the year is more accurate.
@@bobby1113 mid century pop can still be considered a form of jazz, saying 'not jazz' is a bit misleading but i do agree that its at most jazz in the same way that king crimson is jazz
@@zachariahmarkusson7479 Personally, i don't have a problem with calling it jazz or not but saying that she's keeping jazz alive when there's so much talent out there already for a couple of decades is rather insulting.
imo I think we should rename the genre to something that encapsulates a romanticised and idealistic vibe since that's what the actual sound exudes. this genre doesn't have to be jazz but it would be hard to call it mid century pop while getting the idea across of what their sound actually is.
An absolute delight. A perfect example of a perfect song with a perfect music video. A smooth bossa nova track that dances you through the streets of Parisian-like city. A jazzy love letter to an unforgettable romantic evening. A perfect combination of musical styles and voices and an excellent example of collaborative force.
without a doubt, this has to be the best collaboration i've ever witnessed! their voices blend so seamlessly and complement each other so well! the song has been on repeatt! the music video was also theatrically amazing
Beneath the starlight's tender glow, I find myself immersed in the vivid recollection of him. The night, once so distant, now unfurls before me like a well-worn tapestry, threads of memory interwoven with stardust. The air carries a subtle chill, a testament to the season of our meeting, while the rustling leaves and distant whispers of the night serenade our clandestine encounter. In this moment, he materializes before me, a figure shrouded in both enigma and familiarity. His presence is a palimpsest of emotions, a dance of shadows and light that etches his form into the annals of my consciousness. The touch of his gaze, the cadence of his voice-it's all there, captured in the delicate lattice of memory. As I stand beneath the celestial expanse, it's as if the very stars themselves bear witness to this encounter, their silent constancy mirroring the quiet intensity of our connection. The memory, once a mere wisp, has gained substance, taking root in the fertile soil of my heart. In the gentle embrace of the night, I find solace in the knowledge that, though time may stretch and memories may fade, this moment will forever be imprinted in the chronicles of my soul, a beacon of light in the tapestry of my existence.
There voices go so well together as well as this amazing mv which portrays the vibe of the song so well! Amazing job to Bea laufey and the amazing dancers!!

I truly cannot explain how much I love this song. This song reminds me of summers when it's rainy and the trees are so green and full of leaves. You can smell the rain it feels slightly humid and its warm. It's slightly windy, cool but not too cold. And it's night time.
As a pure blooded illongo who loves listening to Bossa Nova and midnight Jazz .. This track makes me proud .. You go girl! Beabadoobee for the win! Much love from Montreal Canada!
