I want to cry right now. This intro brought me back to time where everything was perfect in my life. My childhood is in this movie. This movie is why I’m in love with cars as much as I am now. Thank you for the throw back
Same this is my childhood right here. This I'd say is a big reason why I love old music because this movie is jampacked with amazing classics. Its how I fell in love with jump by van Halen.😊
@@arbytv5139 i understand your point, like Herbie movies are awesome, but that doesn't necessarily mean today kids don't have good things. Like lightning mcqueen, it's a good movie that kids enjoy, so they aren't missing anything.
I love this intro and I was so happy to see that they used footage from The Love Bug, Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, and Herbie Goes Bananas for a retrospective, it gives that Herbie feeling and showing his history from the beginning to his last movie at the time and how in Herbie Fully Loaded, Herbie comes back. Great opening.
I don’t think that this movie was really that bad yeah it was not as good as the first three films or the TV movie love bug but it’s not as bad as Herbie goes bananas
It's a pefect Herbie nostalgia montage. The way the song combines with the Herbie clips, the sound effects, and the other elements . . . American pop perfection. Herbie at Studio 54?! That's hilarious. So, too, is my seeing this at age 53?
HERBIE FRANCHISE 1. The Love Bug (1969) 2. Herbie Rides Again (1974) 3. Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977) 4. Herbie Goes Bananas (1980) 5. Herbie: The Love Bug: TV Series (1982) 6. The Love Bug TV Movie (1997) 7. Herbie Fully Loaded (2005)
I'm 53 years old and in a state not unlike Herbie at the junk yard. This takes me back to when the old Herbie movies were on t.v. and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo was in theaters. It gives me hope. It also reminds me of how my dad had an original Austin Cooper when he and my mom were dating. He'd had it modified with a more powerful engine and roll bars. He eventually did roll it. But he always remembered the car fondly.
I feel like the films hatred is mostly due to how different it felt. The old films had a certain charm to them that, to be honest, was completely absent in fully loaded.
"Getcha Back" Bow bow bow bow oop Ahh ooo oohh waaa oooo Bow bow bow bow oop Ahh ooo oohh waaa oooo The other night they were playing our song Hadn't heard it for oh so long Took me back darlin' to that time in my car When you cried all night cause we'd gone too far Can I ever getcha back Getcha back baby Gonna getcha back getcha back Getcha back getcha back baby Gonna getcha back getcha back Can I ever getcha back I'm getting tired laying around here at night Thinkin' 'bout some other guy holding you tight He may have money and a brand new car May even treat you like a movie star And no matter what he ever do for you He can never love you like I can do So if I leave her and you leave him Can we ever get it back again Getcha back getcha back baby Gonna getcha back getcha back Getcha back getcha back baby Gonna getcha back getcha back Can I ever getcha back Bow bow bow oop Bow bow bow oop (Getcha back) I'll leave her (Getcha back) and you leave him (Getcha back) can we baby (Getcha back) get it back again (Getcha back) I'll leave her (Getcha back) and you leave him (Getcha back) can we baby (Getcha back) get it back again (Getcha back) I'll leave her (Getcha back) and you leave him
Oh my childhood😭😭..i still remember in 2005 my father borrowed a DVD from his friend and played this to watch together in a family..instantly after that, i had a big crush on Maggie..such a precious moment in my life
Herbie. Ah yes, i can remember watching all the movies on loop all day, the original Love Bug was the best let’s be real... but I have a fascination for the Beetle, have since I was a kid, and that hasn’t faltered one bit..
My dad bought me a 1967 beetle when I was five and I am now currently trying to make a Herbie and Horace replicas. I’m trying to get into contact with Disney because my dad has a friend who helped make the 1997 remake.
Continue after Herbie Fully Loaded it Herbie finds out that Dean Jones is dead also should race as a memory and Maggie comes back from New York and can use racing in Herbie and trip Murphy returns From the asylum And continues racing again
How about a live action remake since they’re making live action remakes of classic Disney movies like Alice in wonderland, Cinderella, and even dumbo They should make a love bug remake and not like the 1997 remake which is also a sequel to herbie goes bananas
Suddenly im feeling very old... Those were simpler times, when everything was right in the world. This is now when i realize how time goes by, and how its hard to enjoy today when the past looked so much better. Just watching this makes me want to go back to those times.
Well yeah, if you wanna be technical XD But those clips are to show him breaking down without having to shoot new footage to get the same point across.
When I watch the movie and saw the intro I actually thought he was decaying through the movies because I never watched the old movies at that time so the producers really made me believe that he was just an old racer who started to lose.
I’ve watched all the Herbie movies since I was 4 years old when I fell in love with them and I went to Disney when I was 5. The main reason I wanted to go was to see Herbie. These movies were my childhood. I’m 14 now and looking back, I said, “I really should watch these movies again.”
This was the random appearance on RU-vid that sparked such an emotional reaction that it caused a chain of events that led me to get a summer job, save up, and buy a Beetle for my first car. That was around a year ago. Seriously worth it🤪
This intro was truly one of the best parts of HFL, it was an excellent tribute to him, and did a believable job of showing Herbie’s career post HGB. I just wish Herbie’s look was the same in this movie as in the previous Herbie movies, minus the TV Reboot/sequel. With the same 53 font as in the first 4 movies, and the stripes on the sunroof being present. I will never understand the design change they made. Keeping it consistent would have been nice. The action setpieces are great, especially the demolition derby with muthafuggin Van Halen is amazing. The soundtrack of this movie is another massive highlight. It easily was the reason I got into 60s and 70s music later in life. However, the story itself is rather flimsy. The fact they occasionally did use practical effects and actual stunt cars was commendable, but the dated CGI doesn’t hold up very well. I still prefer HFL to Bananas, but only by a thin margin. Bananas had way more interesting and pretty filming locations, but the story and characters was hot garbage. HFL has better and more likable characters, but they aren’t as charming as Jim Douglas, Tennessee, Mrs. Steinmetz, Thorndyke, Alonzo Hawk, Wheelie Applegate, or Hank Cooper.
As a young lad.. Herbie was always on tv, and I had always loved him. Fast forward 14 years. I own a 1999 VW Beetle TDI (Yes I know it ain't an original Herbie) decaled up to be like Herbie. And it brings my town so much joy to see him.
Because when I first watched a herbie rides again it was amazing and now I watched all them (: herbie will be the best car and will never be forgotten this is a great movie (:
Wow, the transition from the newspapers “where is he now?” Then shows the 53 on herbie. Then shaking either of boredom or stressed to get crushed. *Then saved by Maggie*
I’ve seen one of the actual Herbie cars used in this movie at a museum! Fun fact my friends dad was in Monte Carlo when they were making Herbie goes to Monte Carlo and he saw a row of all the Herbie cars used and he met Don Knotts!
I first watched this back when i was 5 maybe? And when i did the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle became my favorite vehicle and my dream car. 11 years later... It still is.
I’m a 23 year old fan. This is such a nice little montage. I watched the Love Bug before Fully Loaded when I was little. This montage actually was the first time I knew there were sequels after The Love Bug.
Honestly, when I was a kid, I thought this was all original footage made for this movie. This being a recap of 30+ year old movies never once came across my mind and the only reason I knew about the other movies was because I managed to catch the 97 TV movie on one of the rare occasions when they still showed it on TV.
