So, if it makes you feel any better, I had a very similar experience on Extreme Makeover. I was part of a few artists who painted murals for a little boy who had cancer and his sister. They filmed a bunch of segments, including interviews and a bit where they made it look like the hosts had helped us paint(🤫😆), and even had a time-lapse camera in the main room I worked on. We all sat down for the watch party and the only thing they showed of the murals were split second scans of the rooms. We we like, "What was THAT!?" In the end, it really wasn't about our 15 seconds of fame, it was about the amazing rooms we create for these wonderful kids who I know enjoyed them for years to come! It was an amazing learning experience and I wouldn't trade it for the world! I am sure your family loved your work as well and knew you created it and that's the most important part of all, right?😃

Not that my experience was anywhere close to yours. I used this be a racehorse owner/breeder. Somehow, I got to be on ESPN’s racing show (1990’s). They’re really good at putting you at ease. “hi, Leslie.” Chit chat. Ice breakers. No big deal. I was just about asleep everything was so calm. No big deal, I’m just going to talk to the guy. It’s not hard at all. Then it starts and he’s like himself times 10. I wasn’t preparing at all. He took my breath away. Suddenly, I totally forgot what I was going to say. I was looking at his mouth, talking SO upbeat, pretty fast and enunciating every.single.syllable. I managed to get my mind back and continue. It was only a few minute interview. But man, was it waaaay different than “a conversation.” When you mentioned Ty Pennington, I’m absolutely sure he looks and sounds way bigger than the TV shows us.

I'm sure NONE of the seashell mirrors they sold in their shop were like yours...God is watching...just keep on creating your beautiful pieces. They were awful for using you like that...glad you got something out of the experience. Look to the future.

Desperate for advice. I'm wondering if these paints can be shipped to Australia? I want to paint a furniture fabric a vibrant peacock teal colour and I would like to know how best to achieve the colour I'm looking for? I'm thinking bohemian blue and mermaid tale mixed? If I can't get them do you know of any similar paints/products that are available in Australia? I know it's a big ask, but I'd deeply appreciate your advice. This will be my first time and I'm nervous I won't get the colour/result I'm after.

Hi there. I’ve watched this video several times. I love how you did it and everything about it and the whole video. I can’t imagine smoke coming out of your dad’s ears, but I get the idea, lol. I just watched it all again to see what I would want to try in making my own version of it. I have watched your videos for a long time and finally I have furniture pieces and a big mirror I am going to work on from the inspiration of these videos. I haven’t bought your paint yet, but I have a question? When you talk about using decrepit pigment, is that something I can buy? Or is it dried decrepit paint? I’m not finding how I can buy it, but maybe I’m just not looking in the right place. I’ve been watching you make over your little homes recently and you painted a mirror frame yellow and mentioned you might do a sea shell frame on it. I was hoping I’d see maybe another version of what you do with the sea shell idea, but maybe things changed, or maybe I’ll need to wait and see whenever the time comes for that. Maybe it’s just not the mirror’s turn yet 😄. I would like to keep moving forward on this idea, but I am not sure how to get the pigment powder. Thanks!

It is beautiful. The person who took credit for your hard work will get their turn...karma has a way of eventually working things out. I would have talked to the producers and asked why they thought that was acceptable and also the guy who took credit and say-no this isn't your work, it is mine.

My Mom and I watched this video two days ago and she's still talking about it. She said she couldn't sleep that night thinking about how they had done you wrong over that whole thing. It just makes me wonder about all the other episodes and people being rushed to produce a spectacular work and were they small businesses also led to believe they would get some exposure for their business/art? It's a shame artists always have to be on the lookout for people trying to take advantage of them. Still, I have no doubt all things good come to us in divine timing when we are in a place to truly appreciate it.

I want to do the mirror! Just a few questions: Would you still use the decrepid dust or would you use dark wax instead? I've heard that show and other makeover shows are really cheap and unethical. They should have PAID you for the mirror and given you prominent credit. I wish you had sued them and showed what shysters they were. I'm so sorry your beautiful work didn't get the proper credit. You hustle so hard and are so creative.
