Man I’ve been looking for years for someone to explain the fundamentals of beach fishing in detail and accidentally came across this absolute ’GOLD’ of a video. Thank you so so much mate you have no idea how happy you’ve made me. 😊😊😊👌🏾👍🏽💯
I've been absent from fishing for 40 odd years(life got in the way). Retired now, and I needed someone to explain the new gear (no such thing as braid or fluorocarbon in those days!) and the science of reading a beach and fishing in general. Went to Ocean Beach near Strahan, Tas. followed your tips and caught some nice sized salmon! I'm pretty sure they're the biggest fish I've ever caught ... so thank you, Roger, for all your input . I feel much more capable now.
I usually fish rivers/lakes, gonna head to the beach tomorrow, this is by far the best video i've watched for surf fishing, all the info i needed, cheers
I would like to express my gratitude to you sir and all that are involved in the making of this video. You have done a great job at explaining in great detail the important information that is needed for surf fishing that many others have failed to do. Once agin thank you !
I am from Jamaica and I just start to fishing, I love this video it is so informative. As I was just about to go and search for best time to fish there it is, so much information in just one video.
Thank you for that informative video. I was born in Melbourne and was shipped off when I was 5 years old. Now I live in Selma, Texas. One thing or another has always prevented me from returning to my birthplace. But it's people like you that give me a grand connection with a place I do so very much love. Where I am it's a 3 hour drive to the Gulf of Mexico. I fish there when I can. I'm still learning... Peace!!!
Love ya Man!!!! You have by far, the best instructional fishing videos. You're very thorough and make things easy to understand. Thank you for all you do!!
Hi Sir.. I am from Kerala, India.. your videos are really helpful.. I am watching your videos one after another and there are lot of things to learn from in each and every video.. thank u so much
Thank you so much Roger. I very new to fishing and haven't caught anything yet. Don't even know where to start. You're videos are very helpful. Keep it up please.
Thank you Roger. You have a very much think-ahead approach, I do the same, ...planning ahead makes a day,s fishing more pleasant! I tie all my bait already on hooks, freeze the hook and bait. This approach stems from that I have determined exactly what fish species I am going to target, as well as where I am going to fish, with our south-easterly, easterly fishing wind in mind. Louis
And now I’m keen and thought I’d missed out and never will have the opportunity ever again but thanks to you and technology I’m able to learn again your channel is very educational thanks
G'day Roger, I've Just retired from a 25 year military career, and most of my fishing has been trout fishing in the snowy mountains. I had no idea about beach fishing, but have always wanted to have go, but I just didn't know what I was looking at, or what I should be looking for. This has been extremely helpful. Cheers
Nice tips. I learned alot. Will check out your other videos. When I see fisherman at beaches always wonder how they catch fish. A mystery to me. You explain like a science teacher. Thanks.
Thank You for this video. I'm a city dweller and there are no beaches where I live. I'm trying to venture out and broaden my fishing experience. I didn't understand everything, as I'm not familiar with many of the terms you used to describe the anatomy of the beach and water points.Great video👍
Hi Roger... My name is George here in South Africa... I just want to say I love your videos... Did not have much luck in beach fishing and Im quit good at fresh water fishing... but since watching your videos and the way you teach, I've had much success in salt water fishing.. from finding baits, setting up rigs up to fishing and really loving it now, which I never did... Would like to add.. Keep up the great work in teaching it's awesome and so are you... Carry on fishing Roger.. I'm a great fan now...
Thank you for the tips... I'm just kicking-off with this beach fishing thing for my kids to get involved with. Trying to get my head around the various tackle and bait is my issue right now. Thanks again!
That is why they call it fishing and not catching....But unless your line is wet you will not catch anything....Thanks for the great video...Cheers Jeff
I am from coral island named Kalpeni, Lakshadweep in Arabian sea. Kalpeni is located about 120 miles west of Kochi, India. While growing up fishing around the lagoon of Kalpeni and I am feel blessed while I am at it. 5 years back I shifted to mainland India. Hear beaches are flat with few structures there is, are littered with abandoned fishing nets. Just like you I have a deep urge to fish through out the year. Lately I understood that beach fishing is the way to go. Unlike in my island i am unable to have instincts of when and where to catch fish on flat beaches of mainland. Your video helped me to get a better understanding of how stuff work on any beach around the world. I wish you could elaborate on few points and how to identify them through out the year. 1. How do I come to know the spawning season to better target a species. 2. Rig 3. How seasons affect the time for fishing. 4. Time for fishing when there are no sand bars or structures. 5. Types of fishing like jigging etc and time of the year to employ them. 6. How to Identify what the fish are feeding on. 7. Tide, sun and moon relation. 8. Off season fishing ( times when fish are few). You sound like my uncle back home and I enjoyed watching your video. I felt like you squeezed a lot of information in a short span of time and I have watched the video many times over. I wonder if it is the best time for me to fish all day long as everything around hear is closed for Corona pandemic. Keep up your good work. Thanks.
Hello, thanks for sharing beach structure. I begin to fish this year and I focus most in reading the beach structure. Do you know any book or source of knowledge to learn deeply? Thanks in advance, Paul
Hi Paul, I don't have a book that I use and I am not sure if there is a book that really goes into detail on this subject. I have learnt from years of exploring and hunting. i have a number of new videos that I am working on that will be published soon. Roger
Great video Roger, i've been struggling with beach fishing here in Australia most days I end up with nothing (I mainly fished freshwater in Scotland) but your videos are great and are helping me slowly catch more fish each time I head out 👌
Man this is the ONE AREA I need to get better at!!! thanks for the upload!!! I am a new fan of your channel! We RU-vid Fishermen got to stick together! Just Subbed!
Good morning Roger, Thank you so very much for your articulate and polished videos. We have a wonderful little 6 year old daughter who we would describe as having a passion for life and new experiences. Neither of us parents are fishermen/women and although we are certainly capable, we lack the knowledge/skill to be targeted in our approach which would explain our lack of success lol. That being said we, and more importantly our daughter always have a fantastic time just getting into the act of trying to fish successfully. The few times we've gone an actually caught something at our local river/beach have been to say the least exhilarating. Your videos are just such a wonderful source of informative and well thought out advice. Whilst we lack the means to pay for your training we none the less hugely appreciate the time you've taken to produce these wonderful video's/learning resources. Have a wonderful day/year and please keep them coming. If your ever up Forster way we would be delighted to host you for a meal at our little property so feel free to message us any time. Warmest regards, The Cameron Family
Fantastic :) I usually do drone fishing (surfcasting 200 - 500 m) in New Zealand. Sometime, it really worked, and sometime it didn't work. Now, I understood the results. Thank you again :)
Great informative video, thank you so much for making these. I have learnt so much from watching your educational fishing videos and listening to your knowledge.
Hi Roger. Great informative video. You mentioned that big swells and high winds are not great times. Could you please comment on specific numbers for too high swell in metres and too windy times in knots for good ok and dont bother fishing times? I am also on the AUS east coast. I do a bit of fishing but am trying to be more consistent in catching fish :-) thanks
Hi Brendon, I prefer swell of around 1 metre and not bigger than 2 metres although when the swell is large you can often find somewhere protected near the corner of the beach or in the shelter of a headland. I prefer no wind or up to about 10 knots (18.5 km per hour ). Kind Regards Roger
Love the content here, definitely learned a few things here so very much appreciated, a lot of fishermen won’t help or even give you pointers to get you going to catch a fish , the information here has given me lots to consider and a better chance at catching a feed of fish . Thanks again great video . Liked and subscribed cheers. 👍
Hi Fishmut, thanks for saying hi. The purpose of my videos is to clearly communicate quality content that helps people. I am happy to share what I know. I have a few videos that I am planning at the moment that will be coming out soon. Regards, Roger.
Hi roger where is this beach please, I’m new to fishing the beaches and haven’t had much luck yet , I’m watching all of ur videos and they are majorly helpful , thank u
Roger I have been following your videos, I must say a huge thank you for your wonderful content and knowledge that you share to your subscribers. After seeing your videos it has inspired me to try my hand at beach fishing I usually fish on a kayak in lakes and inlets. Thank you so much again continue your fantastic work.
Thanks for the video, I've fished on beaches and had zero success. Will pay more attention on how to read the beach. Had more luck on the rocks, kayak and boat.
