Steve outside, Steve inside, makes me jealous and my mouth water in the same video. Thanks mate, keep reeling them in. Hope to wet a line there soon myself.
Wish a lot more youtubers would show us how to catch fish with Kmart gear. Every Kmart I go to the fishing aisle is empty, seems every one is buying on a budget to get started. Thanks for the vid mate.
@stavio12 nothing wrong with kmart gear when getting started.. Hey I still use em now! Obviously the materials are lower grade, so it's important to take care of them. Spray everything down with fresh water to remove the salt after beach fishing. They should serve you well. Cheers Stavio
@@SteveOutsideheaps of fun! seeing them jumping out of the water is exhilarating. I was living in NW WA during Covid and taught myself to fish from youtube blokes like you. I lost lot of lures to snags, poor knots, bent hooks, but it didn’t hurt so much when it was a Kmart lure lost instead of my prized gold yo-zuri (still have it). I even used to spice up the cheap lures with a bit of glitter nail polish.
What an awesome little session with the lures….goes to show that the good old KMart lures can catch fish….My old Dad used to say…”these modern lures catch my anglers than fish”, I think he was right. The cook up as usual was sensational. Tight Lines mate.
Stunning beach day, love the pauses between bites when trying out the fish in the kitchen, cracks me up. Another great episode Steve, thanks again Cheers Rohan
good work on the salmon mate and the beach looks amazing and as usual a great cook up , just as a matter of interest the Surfstick rod holders are available at the office at Seaspray Caravan Park for anyone that may be interested cheers mate 🎣🐟
New sub here, love your show, you've inspired me to get down to 90 mile beach and have a crack . Haven't been there for 50 years , but it looks very inviting. Cheers Geoff
When you put on the Vibe lure, my thought was: “Not shiny enough”. The Salmon do like anything shiny, in a retrieve lure. For a stationary lure like the Surf Popper it is not so important. So you could try to use the Vibe like that, maybe?
Stevo,Stevo,Stevo! Have you ever thought about steamed, poached ,En papiot, grilled ,curried,Bbq'ed....anything other than bloody fried bleedin fish ! I knpoor ow its the Aussie way but jeez mate ...So saying I do like your videos and hope to see many more ..Ps stayed on 90mile beach back in 2010 it heaved down with rain but very warm and met some poor guy who was fishing , he was drowned but he had a Rake of fish and gave us two big salmon ,which we cooked whole on the bbq ...bloody delicious !
@robking4437 cheers Rob.. yeah I've done them all... many times. Just last episode grilled whole over the fire. Done poached, done curry, done sashimi. Don't think I've steamed... yet
Hey mate, where would be the best place to fish with these lures? Apparently, secluded spots like that beach you are on is good, is that true? Also I went to a fishing spot once and there were all these massive fish in the water that didn't seem to bite our bait, you think if we used lure they might've? Sorry for the lot of questions, I'm pretty new.
@@talesuntoldx Australian Salmon and Tailor inhabit most of the southern part of Australia's coastline. These lures are perfect for those fish. There's probably more species in the northern parts. Most lures you buy have the information on the pack.
The Kmart lures are ok but the hooks are not. Very soft. But for the money hard to argue with. Have caught quite a few salmon on them. Just as many as expensive lures I reckon. But Salmon aren’t that fussy.
Hello Sir, thank you for your beautiful video. For the weight of the different lures I have to take how much? I am a beginner and often get the wrong materials. Thank you
Hi Gino, these lures are about 30 grams. I often use 40 or even 60 gram depending on the conditions. Heavier for rough conditions. Also the heavier the lure the further you can cast. On this occasion I didn't want to cast very far.. the fish were in close. Cheers mate.
My Grand father was a professional hook fisherman in Port Phillip Bay. All he did to catch Salmon is tie a bit of red cloth to the hook and troll it through the school.
Fun fact, my first GT, Spanish Mack and queenie were all on silver slice lures, with the spaniard being a 5 foot 5 inch striped torpedo caught off the Palm Cove Jetty of all places. third cast in north queensland, rod and lure both off the shelf at kmart.
