I’m going to have to start collecting some stickers. My sluice seems naked. I’ve got one from Kevin and one from Damen that I’ll be putting on the sluice box. 😁 I should get a GS sticker too!
That is helpful. I am new to beach mining. I might be mistaken, I thought you needed a permit or something to remove material from the beach. The letter agencies are no help in this
There are restrictions at certain areas. And although you can apply for a permit for those areas, they most likely will not give you one. The park like Sunset Bay, Bullards Beach and Bastendorf beach are basically no prospecting zones. they seem to go along with the metal detecting rules. It would seem that If it says that you’re not allowed to metal detect, then they feel you’re also not allowed to prospect. You are allowed to take a certain amount of material from the beach although I don’t recall right off the top of my head how much that is. The amount of material that I ended up taking was about 2 cups so I’m normally way below the limit.
Hi. Are you referring to the ATV permit that’s required for vehicles to go onto the beach? I got mine in Winchester Bay at the ATV rental place. Ridin' Dirty ATV Rentals. There are multiple places along the coast that you can get the permit for your vehicle.
Nope. I would estimate it to be about a dollars worth of gold. This is my hobby. It’s about the adventure and the treasure hunt. Would I like big gold? Sure. But to be honest, I’m all about not getting skunked.
The thing about a lot of what you see here on RU-vid is that your prospecting. You’re basically looking for gold. Once you find it, that’s when you mine. 😁
