Depression Cherry is definitely a grower - to me it was initially a disappointment because the band really stopped evolving there (Devotion into Teen Dream was an incomparably more major change), but I'm definitely feeling it more now. I guess Blue Bell Knoll by Cocteau Twins could have been a similar case.
For me at feels like the same atmosphere for the whole album, which to me is a good thing. Everytime I put it on it feels like I'm sucked into the album cover floating in a black void with glowing dots everywhere, lol that sounds dumb I know, but it's just such an immersive album that puts me in a trance the whole time, the songwriting never dips and the atmosphere is relentless

this song taught me that I've stopped being honest with myself. In the things I enjoy, the people I choose to see. My interests are chosen by myself to fall in line to relate to another person's idea of enjoyment. The lyrics didn't say this, but the melody did. The sound as a collective whole accomplished a theme. such is the way with this album. Everyone listen to this album
I totally agree with both of you, but I think the lyrics can have that feeling. "Like no other, you can't be replaced" you will never be equal to anyone, you're unique and you matter - what you want in life matter. "There's nothing like lapis lazuli" that's a gemstone, right? It has such different colour, I guess we should see ourselves like that stone: there's no one like us, nothing like lapis lazuli.
the problem is, it's often times hard to discern between what you really like and what you've just taught yourself to enjoy for the sake of others (maybe that's just me and im too far down the rabbit hole.)
The moment that the shimmering guitar cascade comes in at 2:50 is UNbelievable. The mind just reels as it unfolds. If there's such a thing as an aural opiate, this has to be it.
That's such a good way of describing it, beach house and this album in general for some reason specifically give me the feeling of waking up early on Christmas morning as a kid when I still believed in magic, idk it's hard to describe but it's a beautiful feeling
They have such a comfortable flow with both melancholy and uplifting notes within the same song...it blows my mind and evokes more emotion than you would expect, considering its only a song...
I waited so long for that person to come by but he never appeared. This song played the whole day along with ´Wishes´. That day I felt really alive yet unhappy. Bloom is, indeed, one of those albums that can relate to your daily life moments, including the ones wich make you happy or unhappy. This one goes to my life´s soundtrack eventhough it sounds pretty cliché.
This songs makes me emotional. Makes me think about life. Each time I hear it, I go deeper into the song, discovering something new about the song and myself. This time the song was telling me to learn to accept myself.
2:32 and onwards is bliss to my mind, my ears, my body... everything... I've probably said "oh God" about 15 times at least listening to this part of the song in my car. Of course the whole thing is fantastic, but Beach House sure as hell knows how to make records into more than just music, it becomes a straight up journey. They always finish things off incredibly...
I feel sorry for all those people who haven't heard Beach House yet! Their music cuts right through the soul and enchants you with every tone... Everything is perfect and the lyrics leaves me always speechless "Like no other you can't be replaced" their work here is done for me

I was in a store in a mall; disillusioned with pop music and especially so compared to my tastes in music. Hearing this song on the radio I judged it’s quality as different and refreshing. After shazaaming this song I have since fallen in love with this band. It was only a coincidence on my part that Victoria was the niece of Jean-Michel Jarre (who I knew of from my parents’ records in the house as a child). This song was my gateway drug to Beach House on pure happenstance. I haven’t looked back in regret ever.
Thank goodness for SiriusXM U and playing this band,radio station in central Georgia suck. There are only so many times you can listen to the same Allman Brothers and lynyrd skynyrd songs over and over again.
my boyfriend has already shown me two songs of beach house and i hope that he likes their other songs as well. our relationship is the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me and i caused problems and hard times, but at the end of the day, i lay in my bed thinking about being with him. i haven’t seen him in 6 months now and due to corona virus i have no idea when i‘m going to fall asleep next to him again. these songs help me to remember what we had and can have in the future. they help me to stay sane and to move on even though it’s not easy. like no other, he can‘t be replaced. i love him so much and i hope that he likes this song once he listens to it.

downloaded this album early I couldn't wait for it! its unbelievable. Its going to get fantastic reviews. didn't think it was possible to get better than Teen Dream but it has happened!!! Next stop is to seeing them live :O they have to come to Ireland!!

Yeah, I could have downloaded it and then bought it when the album comes out, but it feels way cooler waiting till the 15th to actually hear it for the first time. Just wish there was a local music store near me to help.
