I just love how different everyone is. It's all of your kids first time in ocean water yet my son has been in ocean water more times then I can count and he's 4. But yet he has never seen snow and you're kids have seen it more than you can count. Love it!
Joanne Cicchetti I love Massachusetts! It was very cold when I was there but the Atlantic ocean was beautiful! I live in Southern California so I see the Pacific ocean everyday of my life and the 2 oceans are very different. But I loved all that Massachusetts has to offer, especially all the history! You have things that California does not and that makes it special to me!
See There! That's exactly what I commented on, previously! Their excitement over the palm trees, and the water, and the flowers - so much of things that others take for granted, because we live amongst it...same applies to where they are from - I can't imagine looking out your home windows and seeing such majestic mountains! I am a mom of three sons - all grown...I was born and raised in NY, but my sons; all were born here in Orlando - and just this past Winter my oldest son finally got to see snow - his company he works for took all employees on a skiing trip to Colorado - he had never seen it...it was so much fun for our entire family to watch his reaction - like a kid in it, too! We think nothing of being able to go to the beach year-round, we are there in less than a hour, and have several beach choices if we want, not to mention, how many times all of us have been to Disney, and Universal, and all its attractions - we think nothing of it - and primarily because many employers do give their employees the tickets in our paychecks...it's fun to watch others react to things simply because it's new to them! That's why it is important to travel; to learn about other people, and their cultures, and way of life...
Jane Forst Yes it's cold here in the winter but the spring, summer and fall are beautiful!! I went on vacation to California when I was 16 and it was so different but loved it and seeing the Pacific as opposed to the Atlantic my whole life. Glad to hear you had such a great time when you were here, it's definitely a great place, Boston, Cape Cod. Like you said, so much history and to me it's always been home for many generations of my family
Donna Conrad I actually had to move to Florida for two years when I was in high school cause my mother and stepfather decided they'd had enough of the cold winters up here in MA but I fought it every minute lol and moved back to MA two years later as soon as I graduated. I couldn't stand Florida lol, no offense! We were in Ft Myers

I am also worried about the children on the balcony with the furniture so close to the railing. I know they will be careful, but it still makes my grandma heart worried.
Lynne Bax when Bonnie was saying they could sleep out there with the door open, I was thinking she must not be used to the mosquitos they have in Hawaii. I know Utah doesn't have as many, so maybe that's why she didn't consider it. But if she leaves the door open all night the house will be full of bugs.
did you literally not watch the video? they just explained because they wanted too, and its less busy in the summer. and the children are young enough that it wont make a huge effect if any to their education, PLUS Bonnie got all their homework off their teachers. Please watch the video instead of making comments that can be easily answered if you watch it.
We're from Utah and we did this exact same thing with 2 of our kids three years ago during the winter. We even stayed in the same complex. It was the best time of our lives! We long for the day we can do it again with our (now) 4 kids. Have the time of your lives!
I love Sunday. We go to church in the morning then we have lunch and just hang out with my family all day. It’s such a relaxing day and it’s the perfect start to every week!

We are baby stepping our way from one to two videos but keeping up with content is a beast. You guys are inspiring with keeping up the videos even without internet immediately accessible where you are staying. Your efforts are noticed, recognized and appreciated.
I love that you're doing this amazing adventure with your family. School can wait, they will learn and experience much more this month then they would if they were in school. This is just so amazing! Your family will bond so much during this month and the kids will benefit from being somewhere completely different. My mum travelled a lot with me when I was little and I still have the best memories from those times. It's incredible how much travel can open minds and hearts and it teaches you things no school ever could.

Bonnie, it touched my heart that you all keep the sabbath in such a way. I am seventh day adventist, so we actually keep Saturday Sabbath, so we do not buy or sell, and we try not to do work as well including cooking and cleaning. I think that is wonderful that you shared that with us. ♡♡
I'm so happy to see them this happy! I know they were happy before but I remember when Joel always came so late of work and bonnie was alone at the house with the kids. This vlog brought back such sweet memories of bringing my family to Hawaii when my children were little! It's a magical place and I'm so happy you all are having this opportunity!
My parents took the four of us kids out of school for a month every year to go camping in Florida. We took school work with us and it never affected us negatively. Actually we'd usually be ahead of the class when we got back and we only had to put in an hour or two in the mornings before spending the rest of the day exploring, going to the beach, swimming, biking, going to orchards, amusement parks etc. Kids can learn so much by travelling. What a great experience for your family. I'd love to visit Hawaii one day with my husband and kids! It looks amazing!!!

I am hoping your parents are going to be joining you. They are so sweet and it would give you and Joel time to do some things alone. For those of you who wonder how you can take a vacation for a month...............You have to prioritize things and save, save, save. For me, a yearly vacation is so important. It is my time to just get away and relax. I am retired and alone, so I go to the place I love most, Bermuda. Last year I was there for a month and tomorrow I leave and will stay there for 5 weeks. You only live once and it does not matter how old you are, your life is not guaranteed past the moment your in right now.

I used to live in Hawaii when I was a kid and it was the best two years! I learned so much and it was an amazing experience!! Have fun and visit all the historical sites that will be better then school!😊

Palm tree's are beautiful. I newly built my house, put a spa in and palm trees all along the back fence. It feels like I am always in paradise. They are very relaxing.

It's so beautiful in Hawaii! I went there a few years ago with my daughter and her family and the air B and B where we stayed had an outside ,enclosed by walls but not on the top, shower!! That honestly took showering to a whole new level! We were there in the fall time and the weather was so warm and tropical. I also loved listening to the different sounds that the birds made while they chirped and whistled and conversed with one another because Hawaii has different birds then where I live. Watching chickens walk aimlessly around was fun to watch and too very different too! You guys are going to have the nicest time while you are there. Thank you for bringing us along.
