I think what I really like the most about this guy is that he doesn't act like a pretentious douche bag. Dude just likes to play, write, and share music. His music, smile, and laughter is all genuine and infectious.
***** Yeah, There should be more musicians like him, a lot just forget how they started off and become douche bags, but this guy doesn´t, he still has that same euforic feeling to just make music and have fun with it, that´s what makes him awesome n.n
Dirty cigarettes is one of the best songs ever written, end of. Seen them 3 times in England, one of the best live bands I've seen. Love you lads! Bastards of young!
saw these dudes when i was in montreal and oh man let me tell you how great they are live! he kinda reminds me of gaslight anthem mixed with the replacements
Had never heard of this band before this. Liked it so I checked em out, and this is WAY BETTER than their full-band produced stuff. This guy needs to go solo.
Hearing him talk between his songs is just as good as listening to his music. Not only is his music great, but his other characteristics are there too.
I must be fucked up for hearing this as what Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska album would sound like if recorded from a punk context. But dammit, this is one of the coolest Tiny Desk Concerts yet just for this fact. Like a mature Dashboard Confessional, like REALLY refined but still pissy. So unique.
This is my favorite tiny desk concert for a while! Please keep music like this coming! Not sure why but I'm quite tired of those Brooklyn based, indie alternative hipster wining bands that tbc tended to feature overdose recently....
saw Beach Slang play last night and I was so thankful to be introduced to a band that is so happy to be playing music even after being in the game for a long time
For all the people who have never heard Beach Slang and weren't expecting it to be awesome, I believe Biggie said it best: "If you don't know, now you know."
Effing awesome! That was a really fantastic performance with humble soul and honest lyrics; a real gem of talent in my book... A super sweet treat before bed that has me excited to wake and give this a re-listen.
No matter how hard I try I just can't get into this band I'm afraid. However, after watching this I love how geneuine he is, it's really refreshing to see.
You know, it says something that it was still enough to make you take time out of your day to comment. I respect that it's not for everyone, glad to see even people who aren't into it show respect for the authenticity though :)
Great, honest and heartfelt music. I've just been turned down by the Royal Navy on medical terms which was my dream job and it feels really shitty. I am really connecting to the music that this guy is writing - I hope to see more of Beach Slang on this page!
I like this guy. He is so himself and gives zero fucks. But, alot of these songs sound the same. The chord patterns and chords themselves are very very similar in every song, also his voice is good but very mono tone. Which isnt good nor bad. Depends on your style.
I saw an Instagram post a few days ago, where he writes that he owns this cap for years so it might not even be produced anymore. Beach Slang are selling a similar hat in their online store

This should be removed, Loved it/him/them at the time. Turns out he is an abusive azzhole. His record label dropped him the second people told the stories.
