Hello! It was a cold Autumn day - winter upon us, as I searched for fossils. Poverty Point beach is covered in rocks holding Brachiopods, Gastropods and Bryozoans. This piece of land millions of years ago was in the South pole beneath a thick ice sheet. It holds a lot of history, and for me it is also a place of personal history. It is where my Southern Edge journey began... From my first visit to Tasmania in 1986, where I collected a rock that traveled with me for years - till I moved to the place I picked that rock up - Kay's beach (local known name for Poverty Point.) in Petcheys Bay.
In 1999 I bought Wrenfield, a 100 acre property, lived there for 8 years with no TV or mobile phone reception. A dial up phone internet connection - it was rural and remote. I learned so much in that time about what is important and how the land can make or break you emotionally. It was chopping wood and carrying water - literally. 100 acres is a lot of work to maintain and I found I couldn't - BUT what I did manage to do was beautiful, hard work. With 3 cats, 4 horses, 6 geese and dozens of paddymelon wallaby babies - I discovered a very different life from my previous world - 17 years as an international flight attendant with Qantas.
I had a YT channel Pets and Walkies whilst at Wrenfield - yes with dial up - 14 years ago. I loaded videos whilst turning into a fossil. The channel is still active - wish I could move those videos to this channel but here is a link:

Videos of my pets and also the wallabies I cared for - orphans. They were released on the property and when I sold in 2007 the new owners were thrilled to be surrounded by my beautiful family who visited me and now them each night. It was my only condition on selling - finding the right people to take over my sanctuary - and they came! Thank you for visiting - see you again love Nadine and Cooper
Welcome to Country
I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
