To drastically reduce the chance of bubbles getting into the resin as you transfer from a container with a nozzle as shown here, STORE IT UPSIDE DOWN. Lift and twist the nozzle without ever turning it upright. You'll be using resin from the 'bottom' of the container, which will have no bubbles in it or pockets of air to mix in and cause bubbles. This way, the only bubbles you will see will be the ones you might get from the beads etc. as the resin moves into the air spaces. Store the inverted resin bottle in another slightly larger cut down container to make a sleeve in case of any leakage. I've only had one leak (due to not tightening the nozzle properly, duh), and I wiped it up with alcohol on a cloth pad, job done. Try it.

Thank you very much for your help, very informative! I have just started working with apoy sculpt. I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and it is very rare to find from a local source. I have been mosaic making since 2013 and love it! It’s my passion and creative outlet also helps relax and focus my mind.

Hi Lisa. I have been beading since I was in school but I have never done the epoxy or bezel mosaics. Can you give me list of some basic materials I would have to have. I have plenty of beads. Do you maybe have a starter kit? This looks like a lot of fun but you don’t know until you try if it’s for you so I’d like to start small. Thanks Trisha

Hi Patricia, we have everything you need to get started making mosaic pendants at Fire Mountain Gems. This link will take you to this video on our website and includes a Materials List: fmg.co/CAm2r5. Hopefully this will help give some direction on where to start :D

Wow! Incredible! Your product has many exciting possibilities! I love epoxy and resins, as well as clays that must be baked or fired, but the permanence of your clay is what I am interested in. I am an art student, and my question is this - do you suppose that applying this onto a base of partially sculpted "Plasticine" would work? "Plasticine" does not harden ever, but do to it's texture and workability, I thought that I could get most of a likeness and cover and finish it with "Apoxie Sculpt". I see from other videos that "Apoxie Sculpt" may be sanded and drilled, however, I worry that facial and extremity details must be completed in such a rapid way that corrections are difficult. I will keep surfing videos and see if I can learn more. I will still be trying this very soon. Really great video, Lisa! Thank you, and warm regards.

Hi there. Thanks for watching our video. Hmmm, we aren't sure if that will work well as we haven't experimented with that type of technique. We're sorry. We just don't have an answer for you if it'll work with Plasticine.

Can you use alcohol to pop the bubbles as well?
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems Год назад
We would not recommend it. Rubbing alcohol tends to dissolve the resin.

If you're looking for blanks, try a search under "bezel setting" That'll give you all the earring options, as well as pendants and drops. (There are some fun shapes, like cosmic rings, skulls, etc.)

how do you dry the polimery clay inside the baze?
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 6 лет назад
Apoxie Sculpt which is used in this video is an air-dry clay. When you've completed your project, allow the piece to air-dry and then you can apply Magic Glos resin should you decide to. I hope that helps.
