Beagle!!! I do love labs as well, but my boy was the perfect medium size dog. He passed away last year after 15 amazing years. He was amazing and miss him everyday. He was very smart and very independent when it came to letting him off the leash. But, he would always make sure I was right behind him when we walked on the beach. I sure miss him. I will be going to a beagle rescue in the next couple of years to get another one, or two.
My Beagle could fit through the cat door, so she could go from the backyard and back into the house by herself, which was a good thing. We left dry food down for her all the time, and she never just gobbled it all down. A bowl of kibble would last for days. All of my grandkids grew up with her snuggling with them under their blankets when they'd spend the night. She was a wonderful dog.
I’ve owned both. They are both great dogs. Labs housebreak fast. Beagles take a lot longer because their organs are smaller. But they eventually get it. You need patience with beagles and strength with Labs.
I had a beagle for 14 years and 4 Days before he passed away. He was the absolute best companion and friend, protector and a part of our family. We never treated him as a pet but more as a furry floppy ear family member. I took pride in caring and training him. He was originally my mother’s dog and I had bought him for her after her evil cat of 15 years passed away. And she started to become ill and and sad to be alone. So I got her Rocky the Beagle and they were best friends till she passed away five years later. And Rocky came to live with us. And the rest was just wonderful. I would definitely recommend a beagle puppy to any family.
For years my dream was a golden retriever or a labrador retriever... but I’m glad I chose my beagle. He’s the perfect size for a 1st time dog owner. Going to dog parks and seeing lots of goldens and labs, they are a lot more maintenance in part to their food requirements and their relative strength.. and your not likely to pick them up as much with a beagle, who’s about the size of a n 18 month old... but he’s not so frail you can’t play aggressively with them... beagles are tough little guys
Beagle, although, smaller in size love to run outdoors and therefore would do better if you have a large backyard. I realized this even more after bringing my beagle to the farm. He was so excited and happy chasing chickens and goats.
I have a beagle girl, she is almost 8 months old, I prefer her to Labradors because she is smaller in size. Although I must confess I sometimes wish I had lab. My beagle girl Julie is amazing, kind and loving, although she is not that easy to train, she now knows how to give paw, lay down and sit and come, but it all depends on her mood. If she is in a good mood then she is happy to do all the commands with or without treats. If in bad mood it just not happening. A strict management and discipline is very vital for a beagle, not so much for Labrador though, in the sense of training they are much easier and easier to handle. Beagle love to pull on a leash so for them I would advise to buy a TTouch harness or any good harness that protects your beagle and only lowers down the pulling on the leash habits
I got the good fortune of having my first dog be a lab/beagle mix. Because he was the runt of the litter we didn't know what this lab was mixed with until he was old enough to get up on the chair and see the mailman coming up the steps. There's only ONE dog that howls like a beagle 😆 😆 😆.
I loved my Beagle Meggy, she passed away at the start of the year but she was a bundle of joy and hand's down the most lazy dog i've ever met XD, not to mention she had Farts so bad that we where placed on a chemical weapon watchlist.
I started to watch this channel first of all because I have a beagle, so the information provided is really helpful and amusing for me. Secondly, because I'm learning English and I could say that I understand most of what you say, I think you speak clearly. Regards!
I have a female beagle she is 1 year old and she is so naughty she ate my whole sofa so I suggest you to take a beagle if you don't worry about your furniture
I've had four labs one beagle. In my opinion you cannot say enough about Labradors they're gentle get along well with other dogs and people very easy to train! Very smart animals. I had one who even let me know the pilot lite was out on the stove 👍 The beagle found us and decided to live with us she was just a small puppy. She's a very happy dog and very comical. Yes and energetic! The one thing that impressed me the most about her she house broke very easily which if you know anything about hounds they don't housebreak easy! As far as grooming goes, Labs have an undercoat they shed like there's no tomorrow, which we fixed this problem by having her shaved every other month! I think the key to this whole situation is how you train your pup start early, and Yes our babies live in the house. They're both great dogs, I'm impressed by both breeds 🐾❗🐾 beagles are very loving yes they do cuddle, her eyes are on me all the time watches every move I make wherever I'm at she's at she's a fantastic dog and very sensitive 👍
@@Gamer-xi1xi golden retriever for first time owners because gsd can be really energetic as puppy. Although golden retriever is energetic too as a puppy but in my experience, my golden retriever is more obedient.
Beagles can be a llittle stubborn sometimes? have an 8 year old female beagle. She destroyed my house when she was little. She doesn't want to be alone. She steels every piece of meal i( and no meal franckly) in the house. And I can go on and on. I love her but she is a LOT of work. I don't recommend beagles if you live in a city. They need to be in the wild.
i had a lab when i was a kid he was amazing but he got really protective of us to the point where he chomped on our gardeners finger and bit into my uncles leg sending him to the E.R we eventualy had to put him down R.I.P zach
I don't like the "either/or" nature of this video. Make it "both/and" for the win. Kidding...sort of... Another idea is a cross of the two. Surely someone out there is breeding Labrabeagles. Or is the breed called a Beaglador? Over the years I've had both Labs and Beagles. Well, rarely purebreds, actually. One Lab we had was a mix of a Rottweiler and a Lab. We called him our Rotten Retriever. We currently have a Beagle/Cocker Spaniel mix. She's our Bocker Speagle.
my family own a labrador and it started of naughty and exited all the time but it has matured over time i think he has matured, my friend owns a beagle and he is a bit boisterous, i can hear his bark from my garden/ back yard all the time so i personally prefer labradors.
Lab is far faar Faaar better dog than beagle...mere cuteness and looks doesnt make a dog nor a person...how it responds and get along with situations make a good dog....beagle is very very hard to train and is an independent dog which lives the way it likes.... Lab is far more reliable in consistent pleasing behavior...hold on beagle fans before blaming....I own a beagle in my home....
I had a retreiver and now having a 5 months beagle pup. Man Retreiver is much better so far. Beagle is so stuborn. It just wont listen! When I walked with retreiver and i lost him from my sight it was enough to call him or whistle and he came back in a sec. Beagle wont come even if he is 3 metres away. And he is able to go miles from you and get lost.
I've had both in my life! Both were great loving ,fun dogs! They were great hiking companions! But as soon as beagle locked on to a scent she was off and running ( and howling) , i had to follow her! Lab had a more playful personality very affectionate, michevious! Great dogs
How's about not getting a pedigree, but a bastard. No inbreeding, no cists for breeders etc. A total win-win. How's about stopping to manipulate other species. Did the thought cross your mind?
haha my dog us a hunting beagle to but she really like going out and shes a super hyper gurl but shes not that clingy 😂 when she see me holding somthibg she will sit and think i was paying with her 😂 but shes not that hard to train but stuborn si much somt time se poay catch then she bribg me a different toy 😂
