Still have to do a little fine tuning to the driven element in about two weeks when the boom truck can make it back . I went from almost no reflect to about 5 watts , But I can live with it for now and call it a huge win

Looks awesome, Dallas. Been on the radio for 5 decades. Still working at improving and rearranging things. Thanks man . There’s were some days I was wondering if this day would come , couple element adjustments in 2 weeks when the boom truck comes back and I’ll get it back down flat again . It’s very acceptable like it is , for what I’m running , but it’s frustrating going from no reflect to 4 to 10 watts , etc ,, it’s flat on 28 🤦🏼♂️ But as I said , I’ll get it near perfect again soon for the upper channels 73’s
Congratulations man...all that hard work finally at the finish line!!! I wouldn't sweat over 10w reflect from 600, thats still like 98.6%...but yeah man, I know what you mean. Congrats again brother.
@@alucia924 I really appreciate it It’s only about 10 watts at 1K out Less drive from the Icom into the straight 6 , just normal voice talking , about 550 out and 4 reflected,, I’ll run it like that to be easy on the heater But I will get it flat again or close so I can roll out the big heater 😎 Thanks again and I’ll holler at you soon on the ☎️
Thanks for stopping by Yes I talk to the Phoenix area almost every day , we have a direct line with them it seems . I’m not familiar with AZ, but the Tucson and Phoenix area is always S5 at a minimum on me
It don’t happen over night , but I’m proof , slow n steady wins the race Took me exactly 3 months and a day , from the day I took everything down and started over from scratch . Work, weather , family , and sleeping in between . But it’s done other than one more boom truck visit for a fine tuning . It changed a little once up in the air . But I’ll get it flat again like I had it at 10 feet 73’s ,, thanks Mark

No problem ,, I learned a lot But from my experience you probably won’t need it at all if it’s a Maco Spec 5 element, using the direct fed method with a 1:1 balun . @@dronenuts1156 I was watching from the ground and it looked pretty high I can imagine from the bucket He’s coming back in two weeks , I’m going up in it to make an adjustment or two on the driven elements, it changed a little from my 10 foot test pole , but not much and while I’m up there , I’ll hang a couple dipoles for 40/80 meter .
