Thank you . It’s been exactly 3 months today since I took the tower and antenna down and pretty much re-done everything from scratch and added a 10 foot section to the tower . It was never tuned properly before . I’ve learned a lot the last two years since I put it up the first time . 73’ and thanks for the support
Yes Sir it does well when Mother Nature allows . I have a couple minor adjustments to make still but eventually I’ll get it near perfect . Thanks for the support
You could dry a lot if laundry on that if you keep it closer to the ground, Dallas. But understand, the crows are tired of circling. All kidding aside, get that up there and start ruling the airwaves! 73 my friend. Hope to hear you soon. 😑🦗
Right on ,, I’ll be listening for you in the Big Apple soon . Triple 8 , correct ? I’m New York ,? You told me but I forgot Remind me again what channels you hang out on ? ( I went back and read the previous conversation we had , I got it 👍)
Hope to hear your part of the country soon. I'm going to be putting up a innov antenna lpa 24-30 MHz soon. I'm having too much fun on the upper amateur bands with a dipole to only have a mono band 11 meter directional antenna in the air. 73
I think I have a solution to your boom "Sag line" I believe the reason it bends in a certain direction is a result of how the. Wire rope is manufactured, i.e. a clockwise wrap or counter clockwise wrap. When tension is applied, depending on how it was manufactured, the torque will be applied to a corresponding direction. Hard for me to explain, but I had to read about torque and it's behavior. Have you ever heard of "Spin drift"?, take a bullet fired through a rifled barrel, if you have a right hand twist in the rifling, the bullet will drift to the right, and vise versa!. So, there you have it, 10-4 rubber duck over and out!😏👍
Yeah I totally understand that . I think I corrected it this time . A little redneck ingenuity and some material, using my brain just a little , I “gotter done”
@@UDX4570PalmSprings-yh1mv “Ain’t no telling” !! RF does some strange things !! I hate I lost my nearly flat reflect , so aggravating, cause my boom operator had some family obligations, but he’s coming back in two weeks and I’ll make a few adjustments and nail it down again on 27.400 ,, right now it’s flat 0 reflect nearly at channel 28 like it was on 27.400 at 10 feet 🤷🏼♂️. It happens when you put them on the tower , no biggie I’ll get it back real soon so I can crank up the big heater . Right now as long as I set my Icom drive at about 50% into that 6 pill , it gives me about 500 peak normal voice talking and 4 watts or less reflect from channel 38 ton45 on SSB I can live with that for now
@@Dallas-Rife-UDX-347-Tennessee well Dallas, nothing is perfect, I feel you've done a fantastic job so far, don't beat yourself up over it. As time goes by, corrosion, electrolysis, dirt and everything else is going to take its toll as it does with everything. Just enjoy your fruits of your labours.😏👍
I know enough to know it ain’t stupid if it works . But you are correct , I’m not an antenna builder or mechanical engineer But I know it hasn’t moved the last 3 weeks and we’ve had two bad wind storms Thanks for the view and for stopping by 😎. By the way , get a clue about basic grammar . It’s “You have no clue about mechanical design” Not “mechanically designs” You’re welcome
