BeamNG.Drive Police Chase Cinematic(cancelled project) 

To answer some questions that some people may have: "What is this?" This is a cinematic piece that I started working on after I made this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fos_saGsry0.html I made a lengthy cinematic intro featuring some rough animation and goofy dialogue. And people wanted to see more, along with a tutorial. (I never got started on the tutorial, It'll come eventually, too.) I ended up canceling this project due to the large scope of the project in mind. There's supposed to be much more that happens beyond this, with 3 sequences originally planned. With more updates, improvements, and changes, including a West Coast expansion since then, I figured it would be better to start from scratch whenever I do get time. "Why does this not seem to make sense? Im missing the context." This was originally planned with animation and dialogue. I never got around to it. I cut out the parts that would have been heavily animated and dialogue-driven for context since they would just look weird and make it even more confusing and vague. People want the action, that's what I gave them. I had a crappy pair of headphones when I first mixed this. I got better ones since then. And yes, I noticed it, too. I tried to balance some of it before uploading this, but theirs parts that are really loud for some reason, especially near the end. "The destruction seems a bit over the top. Why is that?" Why not? That's the whole point of Beam, right? "Does this mean you aren't going to make a beamng cinematic movie like you promised?" Nope. I still fully intend on making one, but both time and hardware limitations have been holding me back. some of you might remember that I had a falling out with my employer and have been doing youtube fulltime since then, so I have been working on other videos to help build up a selection for new and current viewers. Im also using a pretty old computer, and unlike the big guys, I can't really afford to swap parts right now, even though my 2070 is currently one foot in the grave. "How did you get licensed music? Arent you worried about a strike?" I use a company called Lickd to license music. Theres some rules you have to follow, and a subscription and a fee for licensed tracks, but I find that its worth it, especially since there's a large collection of ready to use music with your subscription included. (Im not sponsored or endorsed, just like the website.) "I wish you would do more car games. It seems like your perfect niche." I get this a lot. and I would love to do more car games. But Im more often than not disappointed with a lot of them. Theres good indy titles like My Garage and Apex Point that get recommended to me, but I would like to see them fleshed out more before I cover them. As for triple A titles like Need for Speed, Forza, and The Crew? Well, most know how I feel about those, and covering them with my own opinions would be beating a dead horse. I also like playing more than just racing games and find a lot of interest in games such as Voices of the Void, the game I am currently working on now. "Where's the next video?" uhhhhhhhhhhhh... Even my 60 year old dad who doesn't understand games or unlicensed cars unironically enjoyed this. This is awesome.

I don't really think you should scrap this. Personally I think this is really good (as long as you do the animated characters) you could honestly repurpose this as it's own short film instead of needing the other 3 for context

I gotta say, even for a scrapped WIP, this is one of the better BeamNG projects I've seen in...ever, really. These projects are the sorta thing I would've loved to get into myself if I had the right recording/editing tools & software. Either way, I can't imagine how many of these scenes/sequences you had to reshoot just to get things right.

The hydraulic car hop is so goofy and great. Thanks for releasing this wyo, would have been forlorn without it

Something about this just speaks to me. A good car chase or even a damn good action shot of a car that feels like it could be done unlike other car chase scenes in movies (looking at you Fast n Furious movies). Like I would love a good street racing movie set in the future where nearly everyone is using some form of high power electric hybrid vehicle and then there is one car. Unknown driver and said car is a classic suped up muscle car, you don't notice it until a race begins about ten mins in. The roar of the V8 off in the distance. Everyone barely noticing it until this patina muscle car just roars past, dodging and weaving as the blast pipes just spit fire alomg with a deep gutteral growl of that super charged V8. I just wish one day that could happen.

Its hard to believe that this was made in beam, whatever projects you were working on please don't give up on them, this is just amazing

Man, the start felt like what it'd be in Miami back in the 80s. Just needs a bit more neon and people drugged out on the sidewalks.

We need this finished, no matter what, even though this is cancelled, this needs to be made again.

Whenever i started to watch, analyze the scenes and the flow of the video. This oddly reminds me of other car chase movies or sometimes classic racing games with those type of introduction before a game even starts. I think i really love the effort into this, reminds me alot of Need For Speed : Porsche for the Playstation.

I loved it, it was fantastic. I got a good chuckle out of the lowrider jumping on the cop car.

I love how all the cops in this have horrible brakes

i like non of the regular drivers did not think of braking or slowing down before getting an accident.

if you want a decent racing game recommendation (less to make a video on, and more to just enjoy), I suggest Art of Rally. Simplistic graphics, great handling model, a perfect balance between arcade handling (RWD cars don't immediately spin out if you hit the throttle too hard) and sim rally physics (still need some classic left-foot braking and great grip control to get fast times). I understand if you find it lacking a bit of meat, as it's more about the atmosphere and zen than it is a complex story or idea, but it's still one of the better indie racing games out there. It even has unlicensed versions of a lot of rally cars that most triple A devs won't even touch, especially Group B and S prototypes (some of which have not been licensed in any game), and some goofy unlockable vans for the time attack (except the group b one, which is actually competitive on rain stages). You'd at least enjoy the excellent soundtrack, a real highlight of the game. Not all of them are immediate stand outs aside from Do it for Takumi and the post-launch update tracks, but you'll definitely pick up on a few tracks once you play the game long enough. Overall, a great time, maybe check it out when it next goes on sale. We just celebrated the third year since it launched, and should have a new location and cars to play with sometime soon in the future.

That was really, really good. I know you said you removed the story elements as they'd just be more confusing, but honestly, I personally would've loved to just see your animation at work as 2D characters in a 3D environment is a really neat aesthetic. Also, I did have a very big laugh at a few of the massively contrived crashes, especially that last one. That's absolutely not a dig, btw, it's BeamNG, and that's part of the package deal. The destruction is cool.

That must be a huge amount of work, especially that part through the tight allyways. Phantastic footage!

After watching your most resent video, I'm rewatching your old ones, and finding this new Gem in the middle of them all! Holy Cow man.. You have Talent. Really! Never give up on this stuff man! It pains me seeing an amazing well-choreographed car chase getting canned. I really hope you're able to make another project of the same caliber at some point that is if you're able to I know how hard this must've been to work on so if you don't make anything like this again, I wouldn't really blame you for it. Im very curious about how much more work would have been needed to finish this project. It really seems like its 80% of the way to being a finished video. Granted, i have absolutly zero experience when it comes to these things lol. Obviously you still needed to do the animations, but what else other than that needed finished and what was the biggest hold up? Love seeing your work with these cinimatics, they are genuinley amazing and i hope you do way more with your skills in the future!

Sometimes I wish I had a better pc so beamng would run smoother so I can make complex scenes like these tbh
