It's like your saying in each video Bear with me, we will get to the Bear.. I know some one where the Bear killed his chickens as well, very frustrating

It is very frustrating. Dealing with wildlife is one of the biggest problems I have as a free-range poultry farmer. Either stray dogs or a large coyote killed six of our turkeys the night before slaughter.

I'm thinking about raising chickens come spring. I'd like to have about 23 to 25 then try and hatch the eggs out myself. I would also like to raise the meat birds as well.. I'm new at this so I watch a lot of videos.. We had 6 chickens here with no shelter all summer long that the son in-law brought here.. Every morning I'd get up seeing if something got any of them and to my surprise they are stayed alive.. I made a spot for them under the porch during the summer months.. I have four of them penned up for now, and they are kind of fun to have around.. I let them out to run free every now and then, but I'm always on guard watching them.. I'll have to make a tractor to move them around from place to place if I get into raising chickens, because I couldn't bare to have an animal get hold of them. A stray dog would be my greatest fear. We have bears, coyotes, raccoons Bobcats.. I took a picture one time of three Bobcats behind my house, that was interesting. At first I thought there was only one, that was very fast moving from place to place but it ended up being three of them, I was back and forth to the window because of bathroom call, gun scope call, and camera call to see the animals more clearly

Well good luck to you raising the chickens. If you have any questions let me know. What I find to be the biggest hangup for most folks is emotional attachment. You had better prepare yourself for the fact that your chickens will eventually become food, even the laying hens. I hope my videos can help you along the way. And again, if you have questions don't be afraid to ask.

The French Family Farm I sure won't, thanks for offering some input, and I know what you mean, I will not name the chickens that is for sure: ) You can learn a lot from you chicken people. Some one said that it's not too wise to raise Turkey with or around chickens but I see you raise the two pretty much together..

We go beyond that, we even brood them together. I have heard that you shouldn't as well but we have had no real problems doing it.
