BEAR CAVE RV CAMPGROUND THOUSAND TRAILS | BUCHANAN, MICHIGAN 

I haven't been to bear cave since the middle 70's. My mom's aunt Betty and uncle Eddie had a 5th wheel there- ( I want to say camp site 5 or 6, cant remember.) My parents and I went up there every weekend. I unfortunately had to listen to all 4 of them play pinochle, man would they argue but I was young back then and didn't know why. I was told that my uncle Ed had a airplane that he landed in the St. Joseph river- how cool is that? He took the pontoons off his boat and put them on his airplane, true story. It only cost .50 cents back in the 70's to tour the cave, I remember spending all my money going down there like 100 times, the cave was so fascinating to me. They said that the Indians use to paint their faces with the dye that ran down in the cave, not sure how true that was but for a 10 yr old that was fascinating to me. I sooo need to visit bear cave again 46 yrs later-lol.

We love this campground! Nice campground for families. It's not as crowded and loud as some are.

Thanks for the tour! Loved it! I don't know if I would be brave enough to explore the caves however. I'd be afraid of a bear or.... LOL!
