Ive just never understood the hate toward other gun owners for what they spent THEIR money on. We in the 2A community have to band together! Although the BCA is not the high end rig a lot of us would like to have to do serve a very vital role in our community and for the movement as a whole. This is opinion piece on just that and some of the views that come to mind when I hear individuals bashing another for their choice in firearms. I'm not saying BCA is anything more than they even claim on their own website, but it is a viable budget option for those looking to just get to the range or have something on hand imo.
So in this video I take a look at a self purchased basic BC15 in 5.56. Run it for its first 100rds and see what happens. Granted not a ton of rounds but enough to at least check the build quality from initial impressions.

I'm with you. I think 90% of the people who hate on BCA have never actually held or shot one. They are just regurgitating the same stupid ideas they've read on the internet. Why? Because they don't want to face the truth. The truth is you don't have to go into credit card debt and buy $2k rifle. These $400 dollar rifles work. I own 6 of them. Are they as good as Daniel Defense? No. But I don't need a Daniel Defense quality rifle. I just need one that works. Haters are gonna hate. If your not happy with the accuracy, replace the barrel for 300 bucks. You've still saved a $1000 dollars. Add a BCM or Daniel Defense bolt for another $100 and you're set.

My first purchase from BCA was/is a complete 24" 6.5 Grendel rifle. I immediately swapped to a precision rifle stock and a 3 pound drop in trigger. A 10~40x56 US military contract overrun cheap scope(probably for Afghanistan). The MFer is Zeus' fukn balls accurate to 600 yards with Hornady Frontier ammo. Sub MOA/ 5 inches at 600 yards.

I currently own two uppers from them; one in 6mm ARC, and another in 450 Bushmaster. The only malfunctions I've had were as a result of poorly made magazines. Additionally, the 6mm ARC is surprisingly accurate. I bought both uppers on sale for about 200 bucks a piece, which is an insanely low price for what you're getting. I had heard people complain about these online before, so I did go ahead and disassemble and loctite/torque everything to spec just in case. For anyone who wants to try a novelty cartridge in an AR platform, or simply has a tight budget, I highly reccomend these

I picked up a BCA upper in 7.62x39, bought some inexpensive parts off the shelf at the local store(Areo lower, CMMG trigger etc.) and made a fun little AR. I have around 300 rounds through it now, I do get the odd lite primer strike on some of the cheap steel cased ammo. I think that's more the fault of the ammo then the rifle, there are also some inherent issues building an AR in that caliber. I would not want my life to depend on it, but that's not what its for, I have higher end rifles for that. That being said if this is all you have or can afford right now, its a hell of a lot better then a sharp stick.

Agree. I like giving the underdogs a chance. A lot of them are decent and they function for what they need. The average person is only spending $400-600 on their AR15. If it works that's all that matters. They're not perfect so comparing them to a $1500 to a $3000 rifle is pointless.

Dude I bought the BCA 450BM upper with the side charger BCG and the 12.7x42 as BCA calls .50 Beowulf for legal reasons ., and I gotta tell ya it’s been great I figured I’d try the BCA because I knew with the price of the ammo for both those calibers that I wouldn’t be using them that often.. I’ll tell ya after buying special mags for both I went out mag dumped them a couple times and shot for precision and man both uppers were very impressive…I’d take the 450 deer hunting.. these are perfect for both those calibers you won’t be using all that often they are cheap and reliable.. I wouldn’t want to drag them into a combat situation,, but for plinking,, pig hunting and Deer hunting they work perfectly..

You’re right. You have to be realistic. I bought BCA on sale for my boys to get shooting. We changed the hand guards, muzzle devices, and double checked everything because their QA/QC isn’t top notch. I didn’t and don’t expect BCA, PSA, or budget products to compare to my Noveske, BCM, or BA. I have a BCA 10.5 SS 5.56 barrel, shoots amazing with an adjustable gas block. The 7.62x39 upper with heavy barrel, fantastic and accurate out to 350ish. I replaced the bolt with a young manufacturing once the extractor broke and replaced that extractor with a YMFG. Gotta have bolts on standby. 16in 5.56, heavy profile upper. Shoots great.
@p47rr
@p47rr 2 месяца назад
I liked my 7.62X39 AR. Was under gassed. Had to use a reduced power buffer spring to get it to run. Bought a 6.5 Creedmoor. Had a AR15 buffer spring from the factory. Trigger pins were loose in the lower. BCG was ok. But the nitrided finish was terrible on the bolt. Gun would not cycle. And it was cratering the primers and case swipe. Went with a Tubbs flat wire buffer spring. It cycled. But case swipe was light to medium. And primers were cratered. It really needed a high pressure bolt. And the gas port opened up. The trigger pin holes were too large. Put it on safe. Squeeze the trigger test. And they moved. Online review on their 300 Winchester Magnum. Trigger pin fell out while shooting. Author suggested anti walk pins. That’s fine. But eventually the safety will go off if there is too much slop from the holes wearing. Sold both of mine. Lost money on both. Resale is not the best. Although right now because of the new ATF rule. I’m not selling anything.

I think what you’re doing is good. I’m on a limited budget and so is my wife.. seniors…if money was no problem. I’d spend 3000 bucks on a rifle but right now that’s not an option right now that’s something that plinks and will hit minute of human at 200 yds.. and is for the most part reliable. I need something else for further out. I’ll grab one of my bolt guns.. but as with this rifle, if a person doesn’t have a lot of money, they can always upgrade the trigger down the road and/or wait for a barrel to go on sale and switch it out. For me that’s probably the only two things that most rifles need anyway.. just my opinion. Keep the videos coming.

I feel a little bit of disconnect/confusion when you defend the rifle saying there's nothing wrong with it, just to turn around in the next breath and say that parts of it are garbage. The grip and stock do what they are supposed to and will last for many years I'm sure, so I don't see how that makes them "garbage." Semantics I guess, but garbage isn't exactly the descriptor I would choose to describe something that has "nothing wrong" with it. Not hatin, just saying I'm getting mixed signals. Aside from that, really liked the video and the overall message. I'm suprised you didn't get better groups since their uppers commonly shoot MOA or better. Didn't catch the twist rate, maybe the bullets are too light? BCA and Anderson are at the top of my list for budget AR's- they keep running for me even dry dirty and neglected. My ATI started having cycling issues, and my PSA the bolt face literally seized via rust to the feed ramp. Haven't tried any of the other budget brands yet...
@TheHide
@TheHide 2 месяца назад
Because to me they are lol. But that doesn't detract from the functionality of the rifle. Again just my opinion, worth exactly what everyone paid for it. I'd be doing a disservice evaluating it in any other way than my honest thoughts.. As far as the twist it's a 1:7, it should have had no trouble stabilizing the GMM with the 69gr SMKs. But overall I think it did well for its intended purposes and the trigger used in it. Thanks for watching.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 2 месяца назад
@@TheHide Yeah I was just thinking the 50-55gr are too light, but 69gr is definately ideal for 1:7. Milspec triggers do suck, but I have gotten used to them enough to shoot sub moa groups if the upper is capable. Looking forward to the updates, I'm sure she'll survive (as all mine have).

You're shooting at a 1 inch circle. Use a tiny spot.

The high dollar people have to justify why they had to spend more. There is very little actual difference, other than appearance. between high dollar and reasonable.

In all honesty it really comes down to QC from what Ive seen. For an extra grand in most cases I'd rather do the QC myself.. Thanks for watching

The truth is most guys can't shoot....even so called competitive shooters....unless they have perfection in their hands....funny thing war is anything but perfect....those guys will crumple under that realization when shtf.... Target moves, whaaaat???? The battlefield isn't perfect for lining shots up... Whaaaat? What's that whizzing noise... . 😂

I tend to think it's paid hate. I've seen guns that were reviewed that were clearly messed up. No digging into the issue to say BCA component X is junk. They just led you to believe this is how they all come. Makes me think the guns were modified in some way.

@@TheHide Just think, with every purchase of X boutique AR, $100 will go to gun channels to crap on the cheaper but similar competition.

Nothing wrong with BC. I am looking to get a 308 AR. from them . As long as they work I will save my money and get one.

The 308s I've had really good luck with. I did have one issue with the firing pin on the one I currently have but the took care of it promptly. Appreciate ya watching!

the thing to remember with these lower end budget brands is that you have to test them ASAP so you can figure out if there are any major issues that don't have to do with ammo types or configurations with gas components. this way you can take advantage of their warranty and make sure they iron out any defects that come up, but chances are you'll have a good shooter on your hands if you're willing to put in the effort to do some DIY'ing yourself if need be.

The fact is that not everyone can afford to spend $1000 to $1.500 on a gun that will spend most of its life in a gun cabinet. People on a fixed income don't have the pleasure of blasting off a 1000 rounds of ammo every couple of weeks or so. Bear Creek builds affordable guns for the home defense situation not for a full blown all out war against an invasion usa situation. Stop hating a product because it doesn't cost the same or near what a Ruger 556.
