Whhaaaattttt? You mean WDFW outlawing spring bear season has led to an increase of human-bear interactions? Color me surprised. This is what happens when we dont listen to conservationists, biologists, and game management specialists.

@@hitbycars so no more homes in the Pacific Northwest then right? It’s all historically “bear territory”. Even indigenous people encroached on it, in both in hunter gatherer nomad and agricultural settlement systems.

Yes, bear resistant garbage cans or relocation. Great to hear Washingtonians thinking more humanely. These bears are chill, just looking for scraps. No need to kill.

That bear was probably four years old. Where as the residents looked a lot older. At what point did the bear gain possession of said property?

So Bears cannot cross roads? 🤣🤣 Look at where they live, not like they are in suburbia or anything... You live out away from people and are shocked to find wild animals.... 🤦‍♂️

WDFW put a trap on my property to catch a bear that had been living in my yard for a couple of weeks. They baited the trap with donuts. They never did catch the bear, but they caught me three times... 😛

Young male bears are nomads by nature because they can't compete with bigger bears. So they look for areas with food that has less competition. This is probably why relocating them doesn't work.

Its most likely do to weather manipulation. The cold temps this spring and poor pollination has kept things from growing like they should. Therefore bears food supply is low.
