this song reminds me of a campaign i played as a necromancer and instead of making my minions do anything useful i'd use them as a barbershop quartet to piss off one of my friends in my party
This song has the vibe of a necromancy focused spellcaster who just took a level in bard, or a bard who just learned their first big necromancy spell, and is absolutely thrilled with their new ability. Absolutely vibing with it lol
@@BearGhost Alright, time to find myself a game board and start prepping to sell my soul to the demon dude. I'll forever be known as the ghost servant that haunts Scrabble on family game nights. Lock up your Scrabble boards, BECAUSE I'M COMING FOR THOSE SWEET, SWEET LETTER TILES.
And the fact they've been actively reading these, and the video has existed for two years now. Bear Ghost, you are a life saver! Keep on keeping on, do exactly what you want to do, all your fans are rooting for you in all that you do.
Using this song as a part of the next leg of my D&D campaign. A disgraced bard who was thrown out of the College found a songbook full of edgy poetry and macabre rock ballads written by the Dark Lord in his youth. Using this unholy songbook, he took over a local necromancy academy by becoming the most popular exchange student and being named Prom King. From there he molded the school into a necromantic army under the guise of THE NECRODANCER and set his classmates and their undead homework loose on the hobbits to prove he has school spirit (it's a banshee. His school spirit is a banshee)
@@orionpeters3672i make a one shot for pathfinder 2e with a villain pretty similar, but i took it from a rule book, i think it was called "fiddling bones". It was basically a lich bard.
This song sounds like it's from a musical and the villain is doing that thing where they more or less force the protagonist into dancing with them only they're controlling the corpse of the protagonist's dead friend/lover.
I know this comment is 4 months old, but I saw it and I have to say that I was literally daydreaming this exact thing when I first heard this song. This song also actually sparked my inspiration and now I am writing the perfect little fantasy story lmao, I’m glad someone else thought this

How is no one talking about how sick the guitar is in this song?? I can’t even begin to imagine how someone would come up with riffs like these lmaO, so many tritones but it sounds amazing. I hope to write music like this someday, every song on this album is a masterpiece
It's not only the guitar, it's the whole idea behind the song that makes it lovely, if you want fans be sure to base your stuff off from dnd, then people will just flock to it saying "when the fighter learns how to play the guitar" or somethin like that-
@@BearGhost Yea... about that... someone kinda sorta already beat you to that... Great song though! RU-vid algorithm finally seems to be working lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--TqfBEX6QtE.html
I've got a necromancer warlock character now. I made my charisma higher than my intelligence. I've got performance. I'm crazy enough. This is getting used in a session. I swear on all the gods and arch fey. Edit: for the full story, go to the bottom of the comments (bottom at time of edit.)
@@cturner5338 Ah. I understand now. I thought the necromancer was just the archetype of the warlock you were playing, not a multiclass. Thank you for clearing that up!
This band is like a combination of The Dear Hunter, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Panic! at the Disco, and Stolen Babies. That is one unique, but amazing combination.
@Shadow Willow If ur still interested The Dear Hunter's album Act III: Life and Death has a lot of similar music to this song. Either that or their Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional ^.^
@Shadow Willow Superhero Jagganath and Voodoo Mon Amour from Diablo Swing Orchestra is sort of along these lines, too; if you're looking for something a little darker, though, try Lucy Fears the Morning Star or Stratosphere Serenade!
@@thelocalnecromancer1224 Are you telling me.. from the entire population of everything that has died on this big rock. There's only 2 billion spirits. Did the rest ascend or descend?
I gotta say, I really love this song. It's just so ridiculously catchy and sassy. It's the perfect mix of pop punk and a Halloweeny-type song. The singer has as much skill as Panic! At the Disco, and it's just so fun to hear him belt out the lyrics. This shit is seriously good.
the lyrics give the same vibe as a Lemon Demon song. At first, you think it's just a normal rock song but then just one line pops out and you go "wait did he just say... woah"
I dont think there’s a single lemon demon song that starts out *completely* normal. But i mean the beginning of Two Trucks will always be an acid trip of its own tier
My take on this: A party of 1 fighter, 1 barbarian, 1 monk, and 1 wizard enter a dungeon Screenshots of dodging traps and fighting monsters, then a boss fight They get to the boss chest, their reward And the song begins with the wizard speaking as he opens the chest, the contents hidden The moment he says "death", the party looks shocked. He reveals a purple and green electric guitar covered in skull designs, glowing with a green aura, sliding it over his shoulder, holding it in front of him When he says "lucky for you", he turns around to face the party, his robes turning purple and green, as he draws out their souls, turning them into his first undead The rest of the song is him raiding towns with his army of undead, all dancing and jamming the whole time
I adore absolutely everything about this song, but something that _really_ stuck out to me is the air of superiority the narrator has throughout the entirety of the song. Not quite in the sense that HE feels superior, but rather he feels that zombies are superior...to living humans. For example, the line at 0:48 - “...these endless, non-progressive inundations of their kind…”. The words 'endless’ and ‘inundations’ (the latter having a rather negative connotation) probably refer to the mere abundance of people on planet Earth (nearly 8 billion). The phrase ‘non-progressive’ makes humans out to be obstinate and almost like an inconvenience, especially with the objectifying use of the demonstrative pronoun ‘these’. Another thing to note about the aforementioned lyric is the use of ‘their kind’ in the context of the previous message. This may hint towards the narrator feeling as though the risen dead are the BETTER type of human, leading him to try and wipe out the remaining living ones. Continuing with the lyric at 0:53 (“and lucky for you, you’re the next one in line"), this probably signifies that the narrator feels that being turned from a living to an undead human is a privilege that ought to be embraced (which, again, takes us back to the ‘superior’ thing). In addition: something else I noticed about the lyric at 1:28 (“...drive a gathering of streets of gleeful people seeing the deceased’s advance…”) is the use of the word ‘gleeful’ to describe the LIVING humans (at least, that's what it sounds like). Chances are, the majority of people on this planet wouldn’t be too gleeful seeing a whole lot of zombies coming their way. Perhaps the narrator thinks that humans WANT to become zombies? After all, he does believe that zombies are superior, so why wouldn’t a measly human want to get an upgrade? Or maybe he’s just a sadist with good music taste. Who knows? Last thing before I shimmy out of here...the lyric at 2:57 blatantly states “you’re all the same”. That line COULD be interpreted as a way of looking down on the living humans (as the narrator described humans previously as ‘non-progressive’). Seems pretty telling to me of how exactly the narrator feels about humans. I dunno, just a thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tbh when I heard ‘endless, non-progressive inundation of their kind” I thought of it as the ‘endless overwhelming lack of chord progressions’ As in the musical term. It really matches in with the song, seeing as the narrator values constant music and dance. So, In specific, the narrator dislikes the living because they’re not appreciating music to it’s fullest. Thus, killing them and putting them under command of his music is a favour. To Narrator, it’s disdainful to see stillness. After all, isn’t life better when you’re mindlessly dancing and singing in joy without stress? What do the dead have to worry about? Honestly, light-heartedly this could be seen as a fan base following their favourite band (necromancer) who really does make them dance and sing. The fans are the zombies! In a good way. Or maybe the public is actually gleeful to see the dancing zombies because nobody believes it’s real ‘zombies’ at first? I think in the end this Narrator doesn’t value the zombies for being ‘zombies’ he values that they can be ‘ridden with rhythm and dance’. As a last bit: “its over, this necromance ballet. You’re all the same!” Is complete world domination. They all are blessed with dance and song! It’s an expression of excitement. Thought i’d add my two cents! Edit; wording changes for clarity
@@emptyboxie50 Holy goodness, I really love your interpretation as well, thanks for sharing! I honestly adore the idea of the narrator disliking [living] humans for their lack in music taste, that's such a cool concept and I thoroughly appreciate you pointing it out.
Here's how I imagine the song going out . A castlevania opening, slowly zooming in onto the vampire sitting on his throne. Tapping his foot to the rythm. And a party bowing to him. Then, him getting up suddenly, and scaring them off to the town. Afterwards, dancing forward, with a commander and a faithful servant beside him acting as chorus, with the party running in yelling about the horrors that are approaching. Meanwhile, the vampire is dancing, using his staff as a mic, and the skeletons and zombies marching ahead, spinning their weapons, meanwhile singing the 1:40 part swapping between them all. Then a town in ruin, with the vampire and his team, looking upon it. Swapping to the party's perspective, they get surrounded by the army of dead, before getting killed. 2:37 And then him in his castle, panning out from his throne of newfound riches, and endless dead dancing to the rhythm upon a bloodies battlefield.

@@albinocyclopse9952 yeah! The first time I heard it, thought it stood for something more sinister, but it's actually kind of adorable 😆. As if Percy Jackson labeled it.

With nowadays mainstream music being so boring anything looks "underrated". They are damn good tho ❤️. PD: tally hall are pretty good and "underrated" we could say
Bear Ghost is such a great band!! I found them one day out of the blue and now I can't stop listening to them. The whole album is great from start to finish. It's baffling that they aren't more popular?

I know that vampires and necromancers don't have much in common other then being very powerful and having a connection with death, but this song seriously reminds me of this vampire OC I have. Like, I can totally see him rocking out to this while summoning anyone under his control and just being his overdramatic self
Now do a song for all other schools of magic. Destruction, Alteration, Illusion, etc. Seriously, illusion could be one of those jazzy smooth songs, and destruction could be more on the heavy metal side of things. The others are, uh... stupid. Dont do them.
This song spawned a bardic necromancer in my campaign who sings different lyrics (from this song) to cast his spells. He had a risen band playing with him. Each increasing the number of zombies he could control at once. Its still one of my party's favorite BBEGs to encounter.
As a high priest of our grand eldritch lords, I can confirm this is a highly relatable song. I do too wish to do more with my reanimated allies than just dominate my realm.
This has the mental instability and dramatic flare of one of my DnD characters. Funny he’s actually being tailored into the BBEG for my friends campaign rn
This sounds like a bomb ass villain song. Like a rockstar necromancer planning on taking over the world with their song that raises the dead with a chorus of zombies following them around giving them background vocals.
The Whoooo!!! At 1:54 will never not make me laugh. This whole song brings me joy and is just BEGGING to be animated. You can basically SEE it already! This is artistic storytelling at its best and I'm HERE for it! I'm in love! Let's fuckin go!
Hah, I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed! :D It actually made me listen through the entire discography of Creature Feature and Rufus Rex again! :D
I just discovered Bear Ghost today, they came up randomly on Spotify. Linked this song to some friends and one of them described this song as "If early days Panic! had written Bonetrousle?" and I'm mad I didn't come up with that description myself!! What an awesome song, what a cool band! I'm obsessed
This is 100% THE theme song for WWX from MDZS. For those who don't know, but know D&D, he's basically a bard necromancer who uses a flute as his spell casting focus. Really good novel! Worth the time to read!
This is begging for a "thriller" one shot DnD game against a necromancer who takes over a town overnight with dancing zombies and spooky skeletons. *hee hee*
I honestly thought that no one could possibly make better music that bear ghost's last few songs, but they managed to outdo themselves! I would love nothing more than to meet them in person someday!
I went to the same school as Ryan Abel the guitarist and we saw each other pretty often bc his little brother is my freind. He was a few years older than me but he was a genuinely nice guy and pleasant to be around. I'm glad to see he's doing so well. There was a whole group of kids there striving to be musicians and they were all really fun to know.
This randomly came up on my Alexa while styling a cosplay wig I was gonna use for a character that was an evil ghost with undead minions, it was too perfect to forget
You really gotta appreciate the seamless combination of death threats and glorious guitar, a true masterpiece indeed, or should I say blasterpiece? I'm so very original
You guys are freaking incredible!!! Blasterpiece just showed up on my Spotify out of the blue a few weeks ago and for like two weeks I couldn't make myself listen to anything else, so I promptly hit up your bandcamp page and bought the album! Am now sporting Bear Ghost stickers on my laptop and car! ;) (I am in Kentucky btw!)
On that note, do you guys have any proper bumper sticker designs in the works? Because I would be all over that; your logos are almost as awesome as your music, and the sticker from Blasterpiece is peeling pretty bad LoL.
I- heard 10 seconds of this yesterday and after hunting it down, it's taken up 98% of what I've listened to in the past 24+ hours- It's a v lovely song, and I adore it sm :0
I had an idea for a Pokémon game where there’s a zombie outbreak only among Pokémon, so it gives them an undead form, and this would absolutely be the song for the evil team who initially created the zombie outbreak when they started messing with the ghost type legendary of the region
@@ThrowawaytheRatman Nintendo out of all the top game systems is most iconic for maintaining family-friendly titles (keep in mind they only release a few rated M games a system). Pokemon is a franchise with a large following of all ages but has a demographic aimed at young children, and even though there are ghost typed Pokemon, none of them keep a very ghastly or scary theme. So, a zombified Pokemon considering the rot and such, it'd probably be too graphic even in a cartoon style
there’s literally no other band that competes to this style- ITS SO UNIQUE AND IT BLENDS AND SOUNDS SO SMOOTHLY LIKE BRO THIS AINT HUMANE 😭😭 edit: took me 4 minutes to realize someone’s upside down
